Alex Bregman went hitless in four at-bats with a walk, a run scored and an RBI Sunday against the Royals, and he was trying everything to snap out of his funk.

Bregman also had a throwing error in the game, and was so determined to change his luck that he shaved in the middle of the 11-3 victory. Despite taking the collar at the plate, the Astros had more than enough offensive support for Gerrit Cole and the rest of the pitching staff. He is mired in a 4-for-24 (.167) slide with six strikeouts and just two extra-base hits, but he remains a solid fantasy option across the board.

Gerrit Cole allowed just one earned run, two hits and three walks with eight strikeouts over five innings in a win against the Royals on Sunday.

Cole labored through the outing a little bit, needing 104 pitches to qualify for the victory. He threw 70 of the pitches for strikes, and had 12 first-pitch strikes to the 20 batters he faced. An eight-run second inning by the Astros gave him all the support he would need, however. He'll look to hit double digits in the win column when he takes the ball next Friday at Tampa Bay.

Ronald Acuna (knee) is not expected to return from the disabled list on Monday.

Acuna is currently on a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Gwinnett where he's 1-for-10 through his first three games. Braves manager Brian Snitker said after Sunday's game, "The reports are good.. I'm not looking for results, I'm looking for health -- how he's running and cutting and things like that. I still think we need to make sure he's absolutely ready before we bring him back." It sounds like he may play a few more games at Triple-A before rejoining the Braves for their weekend series against the Cardinals.

White Sox' pitching prospect Dane Dunning will undergo an MRI on his right elbow.

Dunning strained his elbow during his start at Double-A Birmingham on Saturday. The 23-year-old hurler owns a 2.71 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 100/26 K/BB ratio across 86 1/3 innings between High-A Winston-Salem and Double-A Birmingham this season.

Caleb Smith was removed from Sunday's start against the Rockies due to left shoulder tightness.

Initially, it was believed that Smith had sustained a groin injury, but it's his pitching shoulder instead that ails him. It's not yet clear if it's severe enough to cause him to miss his next start, but fantasy owners should have a contingency plan ready in case he is unable to start next week.

Adeiny Hechavarria went 1-for-5 with a homer in an extra-innings win over the Yankees on Sunday.

Hechavarria and power are not often synonymous, but the slick-fielding shortstop picked up his third blast of the year off of Domingo German in the second inning. He's been limited to just 40 games because of injuries, but he is hitting a solid .282 in that time frame. He doesn't hit for enough power or steal enough bases to have much value in mixed formats, however.

Miguel Andujar went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer in a loss to the Rays on Sunday in extra innings.

The homer gives Andujar 11 on the season, and this one briefly gave the Yankees a 3-2 lead after the blast off of Matt Andriese in the second inning. Outside of that it wasn't a strong game for the rookie third baseman, but it's tough to complain about a game featuring a homer and three RBI. He's hitting .284/.312/.484 since being called up by the Yankees, and he's driven in 35 runs over his 65 games.

Yankees' manager Aaron Boone said after Sunday's game that Gary Sanchez is likely heading to the disabled list with a groin strain.

Sanchez was forced to leave Sunday's game with the groin injury that he sustained while running to first base in the 10th inning. Just how long he'll be sidelined isn't yet clear, though more will be known presumably after he heads for an MRI on Monday. Austin Romine will handle the bulk of the catching duties in his absence.
