Jordan Reed (hamstring) was limited to individual drills in Tuesday's practice.

Reed has been doing work on the side the last two weeks, so it's not an upgrade to his status. He needs to practice at least one day this week to play in Monday night's game against Seattle. Niles Paul (concussion) was also held out of Tuesday's practice, leaving Logan Paulsen to get reps with the first-team offense.

Redskins TE Niles Paul (concussion) is not practicing Tuesday.

Paul remains in the concussion protocol and should be considered questionable for Week 5. Jordan Reed's (hamstring) status is also up in the air. Logan Paulsen is currently Washington's only healthy tight end.

Ben Tate (knee) is practicing Tuesday.

It's Tate's first practice since suffering a right knee sprain in Week 1. He was reportedly moving well, putting him on track to return as the starter for Sunday's tasty matchup with the Titans. Previous speculation had Tate handling about 60 percent of the running back carries, with impressive riser Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West getting the rest.

Coach Mike Zimmer confirmed that Matt Asiata remains his starting running back.

Finally given a chance to just run the football, freak athlete Jerick McKinnon predictably broke out for 135 yards on 18 carries. But his struggles as a pass protector and receiver will keep him in a change-of-pace role for now. "I hope we can continue to grow his role but I don't think he's going to be an every-down player right now," Zimmer said. Still, the Vikings should be splitting the carries evenly here going forward, with Asiata getting the goal-line work. His arrow is certainly pointing down, leaving him as a touchdown-dependent RB2/3 for Thursday's game against the Packers.

Donald Brown admitted that "I need to make more guys miss."

Operating without center Nick Hardwick (IR, neck) and Ryan Mathews (week to week, knee), the Chargers run game has been anemic. Over the last two weeks, Brown has reverted to "Dammit Donald" status while rushing 41 times for 81 yards (1.97 YPC) and no touchdowns. "It's a collective effort. It starts with me," Brown said. "I need to make more guys miss. It doesn't matter who's blocked or unblocked, and just make more plays." Brown will be a poor bet to get going against the Jets' top-ranked run defense.

The NFL admitted Tuesday the unsportsmanlike conduct flag thrown on Chiefs S Husain Abdullah Monday night was incorrect.

The NFL (no fun league) has a rule that says players are prohibited from engaging in any celebrations or demonstrations while on the ground. However, Abdullah is Muslim and dropped to his knees in prayer after a pick-6 on Tom Brady Monday night. "The officiating mechanic in this situation is not to flag a player who goes to the ground as part of religious expression," said league spokesman Michael Signora. Many players go to one knee for religious reasons in the end zone, a move recently made famous by Tim Tebow.

Free agent WR Jeremy Gallon is working out for the Colts Tuesday.

Gallon, a seventh-round pick of the Patriots this season, is a candidate to fill Da'Rick Rogers' roster spot. Rogers was waived Monday after getting arrested on DUI charges.

Carson Palmer said the nerve in his shoulder hasn't progressed as much as he had hoped.

Palmer still thinks he can prove to coaches he's capable of starting Sunday's game at Denver. But nerve issues in throwing shoulders sap arm strength, a major concern for a player who needs the deep ball to be effective. Given how well Drew Stanton performed in the Week 3 upset of the 49ers, it's possible the Cardinals will err on the side of caution with Palmer. Consider him questionable for now.
