Jake Odorizzi was sharp in earning a no-decision in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Blue Jays, hurling seven innings of one-run ball.

Don't be fooled by the 5-1 final score. This was a juicy pitching duel by starters Odorizzi and Marcus Stroman until the Rays bullpen coughed up four late runs. For his part, Odorizzi struck out six, walked two and allowed just a pair of hits. The lonely run to score on his watch came when Josh Donaldson clocked a solo homer off the 26-year-old right-hander in the fourth inning. Odorizzi is off to a smooth start with a 3.12 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 30/7 K/BB ratio across 34 2/3 innings. A road date with the Angels awaits him in his next start.

Angel Pagan left Sunday's game against the Mets with an apparent injury.

Pagan was thrown out while trying to stretch his single into a double in the top of the seventh inning and was replaced by Gregor Blanco in left field to start the bottom of the frame. The Giants should have an update on his status shortly.

Pirates general manager Neal Huntington said Sunday that Andrew McCutchen's left knee "just felt a little cranky" on Saturday.

McCutchen is back in the lineup Sunday, so it doesn't appear this is something to worry about at the moment. However, keep in mind that he dealt with a knee issue early last season, as well, so it's certainly an item that needs to be filed away. McCutchen entered play Sunday batting just .226/.339/.441 on the season.

J.J. Hardy departed Sunday's game against the White Sox after fouling a ball off his left foot.

It's unclear whether Hardy will undergo an X-ray or whether his exit was purely precautionary. The Orioles should have an update on their shortstop's status later Sunday.

Josh Hamilton has been pulled off his rehab assignment after feeling soreness in his surgically-repaired left knee during his first rehab game Saturday.

Sadly, this comes as no surprise. Hamilton has been given a cortisone shot and the Rangers aren't ruling out him resuming his rehab assignment later this week, but that obviously isn't a given to happen. Hamilton had been expected back in mid-May, but that surely won't happen now.

Scott Van Slyke (back) is not expected to return before June.

Van Slyke has been out for three weeks with a lower back injury and still hasn't been cleared to resume baseball activities. The 29-year-old has been a weapon for the Dodgers against left-handed pitching the last few seasons, so his absence for what looks like will be at least a couple months is notable.
May 1 - 3:13 PM

Carlos Gomez (ribs) will not do any baseball activities on Sunday.

Gomez is sitting out a second straight game with soreness in his left rib cage, and injury that occurred when he dove for a ball in Friday's game. He will attempt to resume baseball activities on Monday, although it's unclear whether he could return to the lineup that night.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that Ryan Braun can be traded to the Angels, Dodgers, Marlins, Diamondbacks, Padres and Giants without his approval.

Rosenthal has corrected the list of teams that he reported on Saturday. Braun has roughly $100 million remaining on his contract, but he had a nice 2015 season and is off to a .333/.409/.577 start this year, which Rosenthal says has put him on the radar of teams that might want to trade for a bat. It's unclear whether Braun would be willing to consider waiving his no-trade clause in order to be dealt to a team not on the aforementioned list.
