Sources tell ESPN that suspended Josh Gordon is exploring the possibility of playing the rest of the year in the Canadian Football League.

The Browns would reportedly have to give Gordon permission to do this, which is asking a lot. They'd be exposing their most talented player -- one they have under contract very cheaply through 2016 -- to injury without any on-field benefit. Furthermore, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says CFL rules don't allow players under NFL contracts to play in the CFL -- only cut players can go north of the border. It's a nice idea for Gordon to stay in shape and have some structure during his suspension, but this one is unlikely to happen.

Jarrett Boykin has held strong as the Packers' No. 3 WR through training camp.

Davante Adams, a second-round rookie, was expected to push Boykin for the third receiver job in the Packers' three-wide base. Instead, the incumbent has held serve. "Clearly, Jarrett Boykin has taken the next step," coach Mike McCarthy said. "I just love the way he plays. He's had an excellent camp." In the third preseason game, Adams exclusively played with the backups, confirming he's the No. 4 receiver right now. Boykin's upside is capped by all the mouths to feed in Green Bay, but his ADP is way down in the 11th round. There's value there.

Suspended Josh Gordon will not accrue a season toward free agency in 2014.

When a player is suspended for a full year, his contract tolls. So instead of becoming a free agent in 2016, he won't be eligible until 2017. It's a sliver of good news for the Browns, as they'll still have an elite talent under contract cheaply for two seasons. Gordon doesn't turn 24 years old until April.

The Chronicle-Telegram confirms Jordan Cameron is set for a "much larger role" with Josh Gordon suspended for the entire season.

In the two games that Gordon was banned from last year, Cameron totaled 14 catches for 203 yards and one touchdown. Now he'll be the centerpiece of the Browns' passing attack for all 16 games, as Andrew Hawkins/Miles Austin/Nate Burleson are complementary players. Cameron, who ranked third among tight ends in targets last year with 117, will see that number push even higher this season. He's a value pick in the middle rounds.

Greg Olsen (personal) is not with the Panthers for Thursday's preseason finale.

Olsen is with his son, T.J., who is recovering from a third surgery on his heart. Olsen is tentatively expected back with the team by Wednesday, when official preparations for the opener against the Bucs begin.

C.J. Anderson will play in Thursday's preseason finale, but Ronnie Hillman will rest.

It confirms what we've seen all preseason: An improved Hillman is ahead of Anderson on the depth chart. It's not a priority handcuff situation as the Broncos would turn to a committee if anything happened to Montee Ball. Hillman is essentially the first-team change-of-pace back, while Anderson is the second-team inside runner.

Seahawks OL coach Tom Cable cited Christine Michael for inconsistency this preseason.

Michael had two fumbles in the preseason and had some lapses in blocking such as forgetting to chip before going out for a pass. Despite unique running ability, he remains behind Robert Turbin on the depth chart. "It's just being able to put a good play together and then a good one the next time and the next time," Cable said. "When that becomes his habit, then he owns it. Right now, he doesn't own it." Michael would have a major role if Marshawn Lynch went down, but he would not be an every-down feature back.

Dolphins K Caleb Sturgis (groin) resumed kicking Tuesday.

Sturgis is in a rush to get back on the field as he tries to hang on to his job. The 2013 fifth-rounder was a disappointment as a rookie, going 26-of-34 (76.4 percent) on field goals. Fantasy owners should be aiming for safer options even if Sturgis gets his groin right.
