Jay Cutler remains in the concussion protocol.

Nov 22 - 12:10 PM

Ty Montgomery (ribs) is not practicing Wednesday.

Montgomery's injury isn't believed to be serious, but he's been battling it for most of the season and aggravated in Week 10 before missing Week 11. With Montgomery and Aaron Jones (knee) looking doubtful and Devante Mays fumbling his first two carries last week, it'll likely be all the Jamaal Williams he can handle against the Steelers. Volume puts Williams on the RB2/3 map.

Coach Vance Joseph announced Paxton Lynch will start Week 12 against the Raiders.

It was reported Tuesday that this would be the decision out of Denver, and it's now official. The Broncos have lost six in a row and are in a complete free fall after Trevor Siemian and Brock Osweiler took turns seeing who could be worse at quarterback. We're not sure Lynch is any better, but he at least offers playmaking ability and upside and gets a cake matchup out of the gate against the Raiders' dreadful defense that just fired DC Ken Norton on Tuesday. Oakland has set an NFL record going 10 games in a row without an interception to start the season.

Coach Sean McDermott said Kelvin Benjamin (knee) is day to day and will not practice Wednesday.

Day to day seems to be the go-to for McDermott when talking injuries; he's been using it all year, even when it's been certain players will miss multiple games. Benjamin avoided damage to his ACL, but we'd consider him a long shot for Week 12 against the Chiefs. Jordan Matthews (knee) is expected back, and Zay Jones is healthy after injuring his knee back in Week 9.

Coach Sean McDermott announced Tyrod Taylor will start Week 12 against the Chiefs.

There was no way McDermott could have seriously gone back to rookie Nathan Peterman after he tossed five picks in the first half of his first NFL start last week against the Chargers and had to be yanked at halftime. If McDermott would have gone back to him, he would have risked mutiny from his players. Taylor deserves the job. He's on the fantasy radar this week against a below-average Chiefs defense, though it's important to note Taylor is much better at home than on the road, and Arrowhead Stadium is one of the more difficult environments.

Giants SS Landon Collins was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 11.

Collins was a big part of the Giants' upset home win over the Chiefs. He was nails against the run and picked off a Travis Kelce pass on a trick play deep into the fourth quarter with game tied 6-6. Collins' play has taken a step back after his outstanding 2016 season, but he's still one of the best players at his position. Collins will likely be in line for an extension in the offseason.

Ravens OLB Matt Judon was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 11.

A fifth-round pick out of Grand Valley State last year, Judon had himself a day in the Ravens' shutout road win over the Packers last Sunday. He recorded two sacks and a forced fumble and has five sacks over the last five games. He's also Pro Football Focus' No. 1-ranked 3-4 OLB in pass coverage this season. As a senior, Judon led the NCAA in sacks with 20 and had a plus Combine.

Jets OLB Lorenzo Mauldin (back, I.R.) had his assault charge dropped on Tuesday.

Mauldin was charged with misdemeanor assault back in June after allegedly punching a man in the face. The 2015 third-rounder has been on I.R. since the start of the season with a back injury that required surgery.
