Mark Trumbo - 1B - Angels

Mark Trumbo had a two-run single in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Royals.

The eighth-inning single extended his hitting streak to a career-high 10 games. Trumbo now has 34 RBI on the year, which puts him on pace to surpass to make it to triple digits for the first time. It appears that the Angels lineup is finally clicking, as they have scored at least five runs in seven straight games.

Billy Buckner - S - Angels

Billy Buckner was a pleasant surprise for the Angels on Saturday afternoon, as he fired five shutout frames against the Royals.

Buckner held his former team to just two hits, but walked three and only struck out two batters. Still, Angels manager Mike Scioscia has to be thrilled with the outing under the circumstances. Buckner entered Saturday's outing with a 6.25 ERA in the majors. Jered Weaver and Tommy Hanson are getting close to rejoining the Angels, so he's unlikely to get another start.

Jeremy Guthrie - S - Royals

Jeremy Guthrie gave up seven runs (six earned) over seven innings in Saturday's loss to the Angels.

It was an odd outing for Guthrie, who fell behind in the fourth inning due to an error and an RBI ground out and didn't give up his first hit until Hank Conger connected for a solo homer in the sixth. Josh Hamilton launched a solo shot of his own one inning later while the Angels broke through with four runs in the eighth. After posting a 2.28 ERA over his first seven starts, Guthrie has a 7.91 ERA over his last three outings. He'll hope to turn things around next week against the Cardinals, but it isn't a promising matchup for fantasy purposes.

Josh Hamilton - OF - Angels

Josh Hamilton launched his seventh home run of the season in a win over the Royals on Saturday.

Look who is finally showing some signs of life. After batting .202 with two homers over his first 32 games this season, Hamilton has gone deep five times in his last 17 games. The veteran outfielder wasn't a good bet to match his production from Texas to begin with, but he's surely better than he has shown early on.

Mike Moustakas - 3B - Royals

Mike Moustakas went 1-for-2 with a hit-by-pitch and a caught stealing Saturday against the Angels.

Nobody is struggling more than Ike Davis right now, but Moustakas is pretty close. He entered Saturday's action with just two hits in his last 42 at-bats. Royals manager Ned Yost is sticking with his young third baseman for now, but the clock is ticking for him to stave off a possible demotion.

Jed Lowrie - SS - Athletics

Jed Lowrie (foot) is out of the A's starting lineup again on Saturday night against the Astros.

Lowrie has been on the shelf since taking a Yu Darvish pitch off his right foot Tuesday. X-rays came back negative but the shortstop still has some soreness.

J.J. Hardy - SS - Orioles

J.J. Hardy went 2-for-4 with a two-run double in a 6-5 win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Hardy got off to a miserable start this season, but he's hitting .284 with six home runs, six doubles and 16 RBI in 22 games this month. Only Troy Tulowitzki has more RBI than Hardy (31) among shortstops.

Freddy Garcia - S - Orioles

Freddy Garcia yielded three runs (two earned) in five innings Saturday in a win over the Blue Jays.

All in all, not bad considering how the Blue Jays have been swinging the bats recently. Garcia scattered nine hits while striking out one batter and walking none. The veteran right-hander has a 4.61 ERA and 9/6 K/BB ratio in 27 1/3 innings across his first five starts with Baltimore. While he shouldn't be an option in most fantasy leagues, he's doing fine as a stopgap option in the starting rotation.
