Marco Estrada beat the Rangers on Saturday by allowing just one run in six innings of work.

He allowed a home run to the first batter of the game but was lights out from then on. He surrounded only four hits and one walk in the game and punched out eight batters. His excellent 78/17 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 68 2/3 innings has led to a fine 3.15 ERA in eleven starts. He will put his 4-2 record on the line against the Yankees on Thursday.

He provided a spark at the top of the lineup but his teammates didn't do anything to help him out. The homer was Choo's only hit of the game. He is batting .255/.364/.396 with five longballs and 21 RBI in 177 plate appearances.

Yu Darvish allowed three runs in six innings and took a loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday.

One big blow cost him the game. A three-run home run by Jose Bautista in the fifth inning accounted for the Blue Jays' entire scoring output in the contest and that was more than enough to seal the victory. Darvish surrendered five base hits and three walks while fanning four. His record falls to 5-3 with a 2.97 ERA through 11 starts. He has 72 strikeouts and 30 walks in 69 2/3 innings.

Gary Sanchez drew a pair of walks and scored twice as the Yankees topped the Athletics on Saturday afternoon in New York.

Sanchez walked in the first inning and scored the game's first run on a sacrifice fly by Starlin Castro. He then walked and rode home on Matt Holliday's two-run blast in the sixth inning. Sanchez finished the day 0-for-2 and is now hitting .256/.358/.415 with four homers and 11 RBI on the year.
