Asdrubal Cabrera collected a pair of singles and a double with a walk and a run scored over four at-bats in Monday's win in San Diego.

Cabrera has picked up the pace again, posting three multi-hit games over his past six outings to raise his average from .247 to .257 just since July 18. He handled himself with aplomb at the hot corner, as he continues to show his positional versatility, perhaps for prospective buyers at the trade deadline.

Addison Reed allowed an earned run and three hits in a shaky ninth inning Monday against the Padres, but he hung on for his 17th save of the season.

Reed needed 21 pitches to convert the save, his ninth consecutive successful conversion dating back to May 27. He has managed an impressive 2.49 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP with an impressive 48:6 K/BB ratio through 47 innings this season.
Jul 25 - 5:02 AM

Jacob deGrom won his eighth consecutive start Monday in San Diego, allowing two runs with five hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over eight innings.

DeGrom is on some kind of roll, moving to 12-3 while lowering his ERA to 3.30. He has posted a tremendous 1.61 ERA during the eight-game run, posting seven quality starts with 12 walks and 58 strikeouts over the past 61 2/3 innings. His next scheduled start is set for Saturday in Seattle opposite Yovani Gallardo.
Jul 25 - 4:57 AM

Chris Taylor posted three singles with a run scored and an RBI across four at-bats in Monday's win against the Twins.

Taylor has been on a roll lately, posting three consecutive multi-hit games while collecting two or more hits in eight of his past 10 outings. The outfielder is hitting a ridiculous .525 (21-for-40) with three doubles, three triples and two home runs during the run to push his average from .285 to .318 just since July 9.
Jul 25 - 4:52 AM

Cody Bellinger hit the game-winning three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning Monday against the Twins.

Bellinger has homered in back-to-back games, and he is 15-for-46 (.326) with two doubles, a triple and four homers with 11 RBI since July 6, raising his average from .258 to .269. The rookie is back from his pre-break slump and mashing the ball again.
Jul 25 - 4:49 AM

Kenley Jansen allowed a walk with a strikeout in a hitless and scoreless ninth inning in Monday's win against Minnesota.

The All-Star Jansen nailed down his 25th save, bouncing back from his first blown chance of the season on Sunday afternoon against Atlanta. By his lofty standards, Jansen has had two shaky outings in a row. And the fact he has thrown 34 pitches over the past two days might mean he is unavailable Tuesday should a save chance arise.
Jul 25 - 4:36 AM

Hyun-Jin Ryu (foot) returned to action in Monday's no-decision against the Twins, allowing two runs, five hits and three walks with five strikeouts over five innings.

Ryu threw 50 of his 79 pitches for strikes, and it is likely his pitch count was capped somewhat since he was making his first start after a month-long layoff due to a bruised foot. His next scheduled start is tentatively set for Saturday at home against the rival Giants.
Jul 25 - 4:33 AM

Jason Castro posted a pair of doubles with an RBI in Monday's road loss against the Dodgers.

Castro continues to see regular playing time despite the fact he is still hitting just .223. However, he is showing some signs of life with multi-hit performances in two of his past three outings. Still, he is nothing more than a No. 2 fantasy option in most AL formats.
