Lance McCullers (back) is slated to throw another bullpen session on Thursday.

It will be his second bullpen session since going down with a back injury at the end of last month. Manager A.J. Hinch seems to be pleased with McCullers' progress and says there's a rehab assignment "in sight." McCullers earned his first All-Star nod earlier this year but has pitched to a disastrous 9.42 ERA over three second-half starts.

Michael Feliz (shoulder) threw a bullpen session on Wednesday.

It was his first time on the mound since bowing out with a shoulder injury at the start of August. Per beat writer Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle, Feliz is behind Will Harris (shoulder), Lance McCullers (back) and Tony Sipp (calf), who are also in rehab mode. Feliz has posted an underwhelming 5.04 ERA while filling a middle relief role for the 'Stros this year.

Hector Santiago's MRI revealed inflammation in his cervical area.

Santiago also received a cortisone injection in his neck, though the hope is that he'll resume throwing in 3-5 days. It looked like the left-hander was nearing a return from a back injury but was shut down after suffering a setback during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester. Santiago hasn't won a start for the Twins since May 9.

Guillermo Heredia left Wednesday's game against the Orioles after taking a pitch off his right forearm.

Heredia was struck by a pitch from Ubaldo Jimenez in the fifth inning. He ran for himself but was replaced by Jarrod Dyson to begin the bottom half of the frame. He's surely headed for X-rays. Heredia went 1-for-2 with a double and a strikeout before exiting.
