Rockies purchased the contract of LHP Aaron Laffey from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Laffey was designated for assignment by the Rockies earlier this month, but he stuck with the organization and is now gets another shot. He'll act as a lefty specialist.
Rockies recalled RHP Justin Miller from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Miller has been up and down all season. The 28-year-old will pitch in middle relief for the Rockies.
Rockies recalled INF Christian Adames from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Adames has hit .296/.342/.416 with seven home runs and seven stolen bases in 86 games this season at the Triple-A level. The 24-year-old can play all over the infield, but he'll get most of his starts at shortstop with Troy Tulowitzki now out of the picture.
Rockies optioned 1B Wilin Rosario to Triple-A Albuquerque.
The move comes with odd timing given that Rosario is rumored to be on the trade block. The 26-year-old is batting just .273/.293/.426 in 69 games this season, but he does have some power and would make sense as a part-time DH for an American League team.
Wil Myers (wrist) won't take swings for the next 5-6 days.
But the good news is that his lingering wrist discomfort is just a part of some general soreness that is expected after any procedure. Myers underwent went wrist surgery in mid-June and is out indefinitely. He was supposed to be back in mid-August.
Cubs recalled RHP Dallas Beeler from Triple-A Iowa.
Beeler is making a spot start for the Cubs on Tuesday against the Rockies. He's not a good streamer.

Medina gets the boot to open a roster spot for Dallas Beeler, who is starting for the Cubs on Tuesday against the Rockies. Medina should get another shot soon.
Nationals activated 1B Ryan Zimmerman from the 15-day disabled list.
Zimmerman missed over a month and a half with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He went 1-for-15 on his rehab assignment and is batting just .209/.265/.346 in 234 plate appearances this season for the Nationals.
