Mets prospect Noah Syndergaard matched a career-high with ten strikeouts Saturday for Triple-A Las Vegas.

Syndergaard hasn't allowed a run in his last 14 innings pitched, fanning 19 hitters over that span. The 22-year-continues to throw strikes. He's only handed out two free passes in his last two starts. Syndergaard doesn't have a whole lot left to prove in Triple-A. If one of New York's starters gets injured, the Mets know who to call.

Chase Utley's struggles at the plate continued, finishing 0-for-5 with a pair of strikeouts in Sunday's win over the Marlins.

It's been a season-long slump for the six-time All-Star, as he entered Sunday's game with a .422 OPS. He came to the plate with runners on base four times against the Marlins and failed to produce in each opportunity. The 36-year-old's durability issues are well known, but his poor start to the season still comes as a surprise. Utley owns a meager .108/.181/.217 triple-slash line with three home runs and 14 RBI.

Jarred Cosart picked up a loss on Sunday versus the Phillies after allowing three runs in five-plus innings.

Cosart dominated his former team back on April 22 but the Phillies had him better figured out on Sunday, particularly towards the end of his start. After Cosart hit Darin Ruf with a pitch to start the sixth inning, Ryan Howard tripled and Grady Sizemore singled to bring in two runs to put the Phillies up 3-1 and end Cosart's night. Overall, the right-hander gave up five hits and walked one while striking out six. His numbers on the season are still quite good, sporting a 2.97 ERA, a 0.96 WHIP, and an 18/8 K/BB ratio in 30 1/3 innings. Cosart will look to get back in the win column in a road start versus the Giants next.

Severino Gonzalez limited the Marlins to two runs over five innings, picking up his first career major league win on Sunday.

Gonzalez was hammered in his MLB debut on Wednesday but bounced back nicely against the Fish. He yielded five hits and a walk while striking out five. Only one of the five hits went for extra bases. Gonzalez is likely to be sent back to Triple-A Lehigh Valley as Chad Billingsley is slated to return on Tuesday. Should the Phillies need a spot starter during the season, however, Gonzalez should be at the top of the list.

Indians sent OF Jerry Sands outright to Triple-A Columbus.

He cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and will remain in the organization. Sands will provide outfield depth in the minors.

Jose Iglesias exited Sunday's game versus the Royals with left groin tightness.

The Tigers are listing the shortstop day-to-day for the time being, but it would probably be wise to count on him miss at least a game or two. Iglesias singled in one of his two plate appearances before leaving.

Twins prospect Byron Buxton delivered three hits, including two triples, Saturday in a win for Double-A Chattanooga.

Buxton is really rounding into form. MLB's top prospect has hit .522 with three RBI during his six-game hitting streak, lifting his average from a pedestrian .190 to a much more respectable .284. The 21-year-old has also been flexing his base-running muscles, stealing five bases over his last six contests. Six of Buxton's ten walks this year have come in the last week.

X-rays on Zack Cozart's right index finger came back negative.

He's left with merely a bruise after hurting the finger while attempting to field a ground ball on Sunday. Consider Cozart day-to-day.
