Jimmy Rollins is not in the White Sox starting lineup on Saturday.

It's nothing more than a day of rest for the 37-year-old shortstop. Tyler Saladino will once again fill in for him and bat second against Kevin Gausman and the Orioles on Saturday.
Apr 30 - 3:43 PM

Chris Bassitt has been diagnosed with a partially torn UCL in his right elbow and could require Tommy John surgery.

It's another tough break for the Athletics who have been ravaged by injuries in their starting rotation. Bassitt will get a second opinion on Thursday to confirm the diagnosis, but it's very likely his 2016 season is over.
Apr 30 - 3:18 PM

Phillies recalled RHP Colton Murray from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Murray will take the place of the injured Dalier Hinojosa in the Phillies bullpen. The 26-year-old hurler posted a 6.10 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 14/5 K/BB ratio across 10 1/3 innings at Triple-A. He'll be used in low-leverage situations.
Apr 30 - 3:09 PM

Phillies placed RHP Dalier Hinojosa on the 15-day disabled list with a right hand contusion.

He'll be replaced in the Phillies bullpen for the time being by Colton Murray who was recalled from Triple-A on Saturday. Hinojosa is expected to only need around the minimum time on the disabled list.
Apr 30 - 3:08 PM

Giants manager Bruce Bochy admitted Saturday that Joe Panik (groin) is likely to sit out the remainder of the weekend, though he is available to pinch hit.

Panik suffered a minor groin injury during the final inning of Friday's game. Kelby Tomlinson is starting in his place on Saturday and is expected to fill in again on Sunday.
Apr 30 - 2:37 PM

Devin Mesoraco remains out of the Reds starting lineup on Saturday.

It sounds as though Reds manager Bryan Price wanted to give his young backstop a few days off to clear his head after starting the season in a .140/.218/.160 funk with only one RBI. Tucker Barnhart is behind the plate again on Saturday and batting seventh for the Reds against Francisco Liriano and the Pirates.
Apr 30 - 2:35 PM

Carlos Gomez is dealing with soreness in his left rib cage and is expected to miss a few games.

X-rays have already ruled out a fracture, but he's sore enough that he isn't able to give it a full go. Gomez sustained the injury diving for a ball in the outfield during the ninth inning on Friday.
Apr 30 - 2:20 PM

Russell Martin is not in the Blue Jays starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Rays.

Martin has been battling a stiff neck off and on for the past week, so he'll take a seat again on Saturday. Josh Thole will get the start behind the dish on Saturday and will bat ninth against opposing right-hander Chris Archer.
