Trevor Williams allowed just one hit over seven shutout innings Monday in the Pirates' 1-0 blanking of the Brewers.

Williams walked two but struck out seven in a tremendous outing versus a dangerous Milwaukee offense. He had struggled in five consecutive starts, so it came as somewhat of a surprise. The 26-year-old right-hander will bring a 4.00 ERA and 1.22 WHIP into his next turn Saturday against the Diamondbacks. He's an appealing streaming candidate in certain matchups.

Nick Williams was removed from Monday's game against the Cardinals after he was hit in the face by a ball that riccoched off of the wall.

Williams was chasing a ball into the right field corner, when the ball bounced off the fence and smacked him directly in the face. He'll presumably head for X-rays to see if anything is broken. Expect the Phillies to provide an update on his status after the conclusion of Monday's game.

Avisail Garcia (hamstring) could rejoin the White Sox during their upcoming weekend series against the Athletics.

Garcia is currently on a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte where he has hit .353/.450/.706 with a homer, three doubles and six RBI in his first five games. He could be available on many deep league waiver wires and could be worth a look with his imminent return.

Royals acquired RHP Yohanse Morel, 3B Kelvin Gutierrez and OF Blake Perkins from the Royals for RHP Kelvin Herrera.

Morel, 17, is a hard-throwing right-hander from the Dominican Republic. He appeared in one game for the Nationals' Dominican Summer League team this year, giving up three runs on six his over 3 1/3 innings, striking out five in the process. He's talented, but very raw and several years away from potentially contributing at the big league level.

Royals acquired OF Blake Perkins, 3B Kelvin Gutierrez and RHP Yohanse Morel from the Nationals for RHP Kelvin Herrera.

Perkins, 21, was a second round pick of the Nationals in the 2015 draft and considered the 11th best prospect in their organization. He has struggled in his first taste of action at High-A Potomac this season, slashing just .234/.344/.290 with one homer, 21 RBI and 12 stolen bases.

Royals acquired 3B Kelvin Gutierrez, OF Blake Perkins and RHP Yohanse Morel from the Nationals for RHP Kelvin Herrera.

Gutierrez, 23, was considere the 10th best prospect in the Nationals' organization. He's hitting .274/.321/.391 with five homers, 26 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 58 games at Double-A Harrisburg this season.

Nationals acquired RHP Kelvin Herrera from the Royals for 3B Kelvin Gutierrez, OF Blake Perkins and RHP Yohanse Morel.

Herrea, who is set to be a free agent at season's end, owns a brilliant 1.05 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 22/2 K/BB ratio across 25 2/3 innings this season. It's unclear if he'll function in the closer's role for the Nationals, or operate in a time-share with incumbent closer Sean Doolittle, but either way it gives the Nationals a savage one-two punch at the back end of their bullpen.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that the Royals will get three minor leaguers from the Nationals for Kelvin Herrera.

Morosi reports that they'll get outfielder Blake Perkins, third baseman Kelvin Gutierrez and right-hander Yohanse Morel. It's a nice return package for the Royals while the Nationals get the dominant bullpen arm they coveted.
