Emilio Bonifacio has made the Braves' Opening Day roster.

Bonifacio, a non-roster player, batted .260/.315/.360 with one homer and three steals over 20 games this spring. He'll bring some speed and versatility to the Braves' bench.

Jeurys Familia is back in Mets' camp on Tuesday.

Familia reportedly traveled to New York on Monday to meet with MLB commissioner Rob Manfred regarding his domestic violence case. The expectation is that he will face a suspension, but Billy Witz of the New York Times reported Monday that it is "almost certain" to be less than the 30 games Aroldis Chapman received. An announcement is considered imminent. No matter the length of the suspension, Addison Reed is expected to fill in as closer for New York.

Nick Franklin was scratched from Tuesday's Grapefruit League lineup due to illness.

Franklin should be fine in the next day or two. The 26-year-old is expected to begin the season in a utility role.

Alex Cobb (back) is on track to make his final spring tune-up on Friday.

Cobb was scratched from a scheduled start in a minor league game Sunday due to lower back tightness, but he's feeling better now and will throw a bullpen session on Wednesday. If all goes well, he'll make his season debut on April 5.

Tommy Hunter was informed by Rays manager Kevin Cash that he has made the Opening Day roster.

Hunter, a non-roster invitee, won a bullpen spot on the strength of a 1.13 ERA over seven appearances this spring. The 30-year-old will provide an experienced arm in the Rays' bullpen.

Rickie Weeks has been informed that he has made the Opening Day roster.

It was pretty much a foregone conclusion already, but it's now official. Weeks is hitting .286/.342/.657 with three homers and 10 RBI over 14 games this spring and should see starts against left-handers to begin the year.

Mets reassigned RHP Paul Sewald to minor league camp.

Sewald put up an impressive 2.51 ERA and 12/5 K/BB ratio over 14 1/3 innings this spring, but it wasn't enough to win a bullpen spot. It's worth noting that Josh Edgin is out of options, so that could have been the deciding factor here for the Mets.
Mar 28 - 8:37 AM

Tim Beckham (hip) expects to return to the starting lineup Wednesday.

Beckham was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to an irritated hip flexor, but he's slated to go through a workout on Tuesday. Barring any setbacks, he should be cleared to return to action. Beckham is expected to begin the year as the Rays' starting shortstop with Matt Duffy (heel) on the mend.
