Derek Norris finished 0-for-3 with two strikeouts against the Rockies on Monday.

Norris is hitting .145 with 25 strikeouts and just four walks through 83 at-bats. He should rebound and serve as a decent option in two-catcher mixed leagues, but it's been ugly so far.

Nate Karns picked up a win after yielding three runs in six-plus innings Monday against the A's.

Karns allowed one run in six innings before giving up a single, a homer and a double to the three batters he faced in the seventh. Fortunately, Vidal Nuno and Nick Vincent combined to strand the baserunner, keeping Karns in line for the win in a 4-3 game. Neither team scored afterwards. Karns is 3-1 with a 3.81 ERA.

Kendall Graveman surrendered four runs in 6 1/3 innings Monday in a loss to the Mariners.

It was one run through five innings, but then Graveman gave up four hits and two runs in the sixth. For some reason, Bob Melvin sent him back out for the seventh anyway (even though four straight lefties were due up), and he was pulled after a one-out double (the runner later came around to score). Graveman is now 1-3 with a 4.40 ERA. He's just an AL-only guy for the moment.

Nori Aoki went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a steal against the A's on Monday.

Aoki stole third base in the seventh inning and scored when the throw went into left field. He entered the night with a .212/.302/.294 line and just one steal in four tries this season.
May 3 - 1:10 AM

Khris Davis hit his fourth and fifth homers of the year Monday against the Mariners.

The A's brought in Davis for his power, and they've stuck with him during his slow start. He's hitting .234 with a 28/3 K/BB ratio in 94 at-bats.

Twins optioned INF Jorge Polanco to Triple-A Rochester.

The move clears the way for Trevor Plouffe's return from the disabled list. Polanco has already had two stints with the Twins this season and should be back again at some point this summer.
May 3 - 12:21 AM

Twins activated 3B Trevor Plouffe from the 15-day disabled list.

Plouffe, out since April 17 with a right intercostal strain, was cleared to return after playing a pair of minor league rehab games. Eduardo Nunez has swung the bat well while filling in at third base, but he's now likely headed back to a bench role.
May 3 - 12:19 AM

Gio Gonzalez allowed four hits over six innings as the Nationals blanked the Royals 2-0 on Monday.

Gonzalez struck out just one, but the struggling Royals offense couldn't put together hits against him. Gonzalez has a 1.15 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP through five starts. We're not buying those numbers, but he does figure to continue to pitch better than he did last year.
