Jake McGee (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Saturday.

McGee had his minor league rehab assignment pushed back after he experienced general soreness after an appearance in extended spring training last week. If all goes well, he should begin that rehab assignment at some point during the week, with a return to the Rays bullpen not long after.

Starling Marte (hand) went 1-for-4 in his return to the Pirates lineup on Friday.

Marte left Wednesday's game after being hit by a pitch on his hand and received a day of rest on Thursday as a precautionary measure. The 26-year-old has been scuffling at the plate in the early going, slashing .226/.276/.547 with a 19/2 K/BB ratio in 59 plate appearances, though he does have five homers and 12 RBI.

Charlie Blackmon hit a solo home run in the third inning of Friday's win over the Giants.

Blackmon finished the game 2-for-5. In addition to the home run, he also hit a single. Blackmon's slashing .269/.342/.478 in April, with two home runs, eight RBI and nine runs scored. He continues to have value in mixed leagues thanks to his position in the lineup leading off and his speed, though he was thrown out trying to steal in Friday's contest. In 2014, Blackmon swiped 28 bags in 38 attempts.

D.J. LeMahieu hit an RBI single and an RBI double in Friday's win over the Giants.

LeMahieu picked up both of his RBI against Giants starter Chris Heston. He finished the game 3-for-4 with two doubles and a single. Despite the hot game, LeMahieu hits seventh in the Rockies lineup and his current .414/.452/.552 slash bears little resemblance to any of his career marks. Outside of NL-only leagues, he's not fantasy relevant.
Apr 25 - 3:23 AM

Justin Maxwell hit a two-run home run and finished 2-for-3 in Friday's loss to the Rockies.

Maxwell's been swinging a happy bat as of late. On Tuesday, he tripled and homered, scoring three times. On Thursday, he hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th to slay the Dodgers. And on Friday, he launched a massive, 436-foot home run off of Eddie Butler in the second inning. Over 33 at-bats, Maxwell is now hitting .333/.436/.606.
Apr 25 - 3:15 AM

Brandon Belt hit an RBI double and finished a perfect 3-for-3 in Friday's loss to the Rockies.

The run-scoring double off of Eddie Butler in the fifth inning was Belt's first of the season. Belt, who hit 12 home runs last season, is still searching for a home run in 2015. After a horrible start to April, he's begun to find his groove. His current five-game hitting streak has moved his average from .077 to a slightly more respectable .238. We like Belt as a player, but he'll need to keep this hot streak going before he can be deployed with confidence in mixed leagues.
Apr 25 - 3:05 AM

Eddie Butler improved to 2-1 on Friday, though he did allow four runs on nine hits over six innings.

It wasn't a great outing for the 24-year-old Butler, but Chris Heston was slightly worse and the Rockies managed to come away with a 6-4 win. Butler struck out three and walked two in the contest. The Giants scored runs on a two-run homer by Justin Maxwell in the second, an RBI single by Angel Pagan in the third and an RBI double by Brandon Belt in the fifth. Butler currently holds a 3.27 ERA and a 1.68 WHIP across 22 innings. If you're willing to dance on the edge of a WHIP knife, the pitcher does have some upside. He'll take on the Diamondbacks in a road outing next time he toes the rubber.
Apr 25 - 2:56 AM

Chris Heston was knocked around over 5 1/3 innings on Friday, allowing six runs on 11 hits to the Rockies.

Heston fell to 2-2 with the tough outing. The Rockies put up two runs in the second inning, another run in the third, then finished Heston off with a three run sixth. Coming into the game, Heston--who is filling in for the injured Matt Cain--had an ERA of just 0.87. The poor outing bumped it to 2.77. He's is still usable in NL-only leagues, though owners should watch him closely to see if the bloom has begun to wear off the rose. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Dodgers in his next start.
