Josh Tomlin allowed four runs (three earned) over 5 1/3 innings Friday in a no-decision against the Royals.

Tomlin gave up seven hits (including two home runs) while walking none and striking out five. He has now allowed 16 home runs in 86 2/3 innings of work and has just one win over his last eight starts. He's no sure thing to keep a rotation spot once Justin Masterson comes back from the DL.

Salvador Perez went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored Friday against the Indians.

Perez already has 12 home runs through 92 games this season. The 24-year-old appears primed to blow away his career-high of 13, which he set last season over 138 games. He's currently on pace to finish below 79 RBI he had last year -- he's currently at 38 -- so the increase in power has been a decent trade-off for fantasy owners.

Carlos Santana clubbed two homers and knocked in three runs in a loss to the Royals on Friday.

Santana popped a solo blast in the fourth inning and added a two-run shot for good measure in the sixth. With three multi-hit games in his last four, his batting average is now up to .222 for the year, his high-water mark since early April. He's also up to 17 home runs and 45 RBI on the year.

Lucas Duda delivered a go-ahead two-run homer in a 3-2 win over the Brewers on Friday.

The Mets entered the top of the ninth inning down 3-0, but David Wright knocked in the first run with an RBI single and Duda followed with a long blast to right-center field. The 28-year-old has now gone deep three times in his last four games and is up to 17 home runs and 53 RBI on the year. It looks like the Mets made the right choice between him and Ike Davis.

Jenrry Mejia tossed a scoreless ninth inning against the Brewers on Friday for his 14th save of the season.

Mejia put himself in some early trouble with a leadoff walk to Jonathan Lucroy, but he secured the victory by striking out the next three batters he faced. The 24-year-old owns a 2.03 ERA and 33/13 K/BB ratio in 31 innings since moving to the bullpen. He's 14-for-16 in save chances.
Jul 26 - 12:07 AM

Francisco Rodriguez took the loss Friday against the Mets after blowing his fourth save of the season.

Rodriguez took over in the top of the ninth inning with a 2-0 lead, but he gave up a leadoff double to Daniel Murphy before David Wright followed with an RBI single and Lucas Duda put the Mets in front with a two-run homer. He has now allowed six runs over seven innings of work this month, with his ERA jumping from 2.34 to 3.10 in the process.
Jul 26 - 12:06 AM

Zack Wheeler allowed two runs (one earned) over 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Brewers on Friday.

Wheeler was bailed out by a ninth-inning rally, but he deserved a better fate anyway, as an error by Daniel Murphy got the Brewers on the board in the sixth. He held the Brewers to just three hits (including a solo homer from Carlos Gomez) and two walks while striking out nine batters. The young right-hander has really begun to hit his stride of late, allowing just one earned run in each of his last five starts. He'll carry a 3.64 ERA into a start against the Phillies next week.
Jul 26 - 12:06 AM

Yovani Gallardo tossed 7 2/3 scoreless innings against the Mets on Friday, but was handed a no-decision.

Tough break for Gallardo, who was dominant. He allowed just four hits (all of them singles) and no walks while fanning eight batters. However, Francisco Rodriguez blew his chance at a win in the ninth. Gallardo is now winless over his last six starts. He'll try to turn that around when he faces the red-hot Rays next week.
