Jonathan Schoop (knee) is likely to remain in the minor leagues for the remainder of this week.

There was talk that the Orioles might activate him Monday, but Schoop needs a little more work as he makes his way back from a PCL tear in his left knee. He hasn't appeared in a major league game since April 17.

Pirates pitching prospect Tyler Glasnow tied a season-high with seven strikeouts Monday in a start for Double-A Altoona.

He's still working his way back from an ankle injury. The 21-year-old looked sharp in Monday's abbreviated outing, allowing just two hits and two walks over 3 2/3 shutout innings. Glasnow owns a 2.58 ERA in nine starts this year with a 9.86 K/9. He should have a higher pitch count in his next outing.

Tigers pitching prospect Buck Farmer scattered one run and seven hits over seven innings Monday in a win for Triple-A Toledo.

Farmer hasn't had much success in the majors this season (0-2, 10.45 ERA in two starts), but he's been a stud in Triple-A, leading the Mud Hens with seven wins and a 3.35 ERA. The eight strikeouts Farmer recorded Monday were his most since May 7 against Pawtucket. Farmer should get a few more chances with the Tigers this season.

Marlins manager Dan Jennings said Michael Morse (back) will be activated in the next few days.

Morse was pulled off his rehab assignment on Monday after tweaking a muscle in his back, but tests taken Tuesday showed nothing major. Morse was originally placed on the disabled list May 23 with a finger sprain.

Mets pitching prospect John Gant fanned 10 hitters over eight shutout frames Monday for High-A St. Lucie.

After a subpar showing in Binghamton earlier this year, Gant has looked like a completely different pitcher in six outings for St. Lucie. He's punched out 48 hitters in that span with a stunning 1.79 ERA. The 22-year-old is ready for another shot at Double-A. Expect a promotion in the near future.

Athletics optioned INF Max Muncy to Triple-A Nashville.

Muncy batted .203/.273/.367 with two home runs across 88 plate appearances with the A's. The 24-year-old corner infielder has posted big numbers at Triple-A and should get another shot in the majors soon enough.

Yankees 1B prospect Greg Bird hammered his fifth home run of the season Monday in a win for Double-A Trenton.

He hadn't homered since June 10. The 22-year-old's batting average is nothing to write home about (.246 in 167 at-bats this season) but his lifetime .397 on base percentage and his relatively low strikeout rate (29 Ks this year) make him an interesting prospect. He might be New York's best in-house option to replace Mark Teixeira when his contract expires after the 2016 season.

White Sox pitching prospect Terance Marin hurled seven shutout innings Tuesday for Triple-A Charlotte.

Onelki Garcia blew the save, denying Marin what would have been his fifth victory of the season. Two of those wins came during a 10-game stint with Tijuana. Marin hasn't allowed a run in his last 29 innings. The five strikeouts he recorded Tuesday were his most since joining Charlotte on June 8.
