Felix Hernandez fanned 12 while holding the Rangers to one run over seven innings in a victory Saturday.

Although Hernandez was still bothered by some tightness in his quad, it didn't show in his performance; he allowed just two hits on the night. It was his 11th career 12-strikeout game and first since he fanned 15 against the Rays last June 8.

Fernando Rodney pitched a perfect ninth against the Rangers for his third save Saturday.

It was Rodney's first appearance since he took a loss and a blown save on Tuesday. He lowered his ERA from 16.20 to 12.46 with the outing.

Brad Miller went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple and a stolen base on Saturday.

He was picked off second base after the steal, so it wasn't all good. Still, it was a positive development. Now that Chris Taylor is healthy again, Miller could face competition at shortstop in two or three weeks. However, if he gets hot, the job should be his for good.
Apr 19 - 1:15 AM

Rougned Odor went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts Saturday, dropping his average to .158.

Odor's .158 average hardly stands out among Rangers regulars, so he's not in any danger of losing playing time. The team's offense certainly isn't great, but it can't be this bad, and Odor still projects as a contributor in mixed leagues.
Apr 19 - 1:13 AM

Joe Panik went 3-for-5 with an RBI as the Giants topped the Diamondbacks 4-1 on Saturday.

Panik had a dreadful spring and a poor first week and a half, but he's come alive with eight hits in the first three games of the series against Arizona. That's raised his average from .176 to .286.
Apr 19 - 1:10 AM

Chris Heston held the Diamondbacks to one run in 7 2/3 innings in a victory Saturday.

Heston has a 0.87 ERA in three starts in place of Matt Cain in the Diamondbacks rotation. We still wouldn't recommend him in mixed leagues -- his stuff isn't all that impressive -- but he's certainly worth playing in NL-only leagues for however long he's in the Giants rotation.
Apr 19 - 1:09 AM

Rubby De La Rosa yielded four runs -- three earned -- in 6 2/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Giants.

De La Rosa probably pitched better tonight that he did in either of his two wins to open the season, but the run support wasn't as much in abundance. He's given up four homers through 18 innings, and until he stops doing serving up the long ball, he's not going to be an option in NL-only leagues.
Apr 19 - 1:07 AM

Brandon Crawford hit a two-run homer off the Diamondbacks' Rubby De La Rosa on Saturday.

Crawford is still batting just .163, which is why he's found himself hitting eighth of late. However, he has three homers and seven RBI anyway.
