Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Friday that Mac Williamson will be the team's everyday left fielder.

Williamson returned from the 7-day concussion disabled list Friday. The 27-year-old changed his swing over the offseason and hit three homers over five games with the Giants after mashing at Triple-A Sacramento. Hunter Pence's (thumb) impending return could complicate things, but Williamson is worth a gamble in deep leagues while he's playing regularly.

Yankees signed C Wilkin Castillo to a minor league contract.

Castillo was in the minors with the Yanks last season but had been playing this year with the independent league Long Island Ducks. He'll provide depth behind the plate.
May 25 - 12:55 PM

Yankees released 1B Adam Lind.

Lind opted out of his minor league deal with the Yanks in March before re-signing last month. He's now on the market again after batting .302/.362/.477 with three homers over 24 games for them in the minors. Lind should catch on elsewhere quickly.

Brewers recalled RHP Adrian Houser from Double-A Biloxi.

Houser tossed two scoreless innings in his major league debut last month. He'll give the Brewers some length in the bullpen.
May 25 - 12:50 PM

Brewers recalled INF Eric Sogard from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Sogard has batted just .100/.194/.150 over 68 plate appearances this season with Milwaukee. He should see a good number of starts at shortstop and second base.
May 25 - 12:49 PM

Brewers optioned RHP Jorge Lopez to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Lopez allowed one run over two relief innings Thursday in his last appearance with the Brewers. Adrian Houser has replaced him in the bullpen.
May 25 - 12:48 PM

Brewers optioned SS Orlando Arcia to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Arcia has given the Brew Crew stellar defense this season, but he's batted just .194/.233/.273 and the team has decided to let him work on his offense in the minors for a while. Milwaukee figures to use some combination of Tyler Saladino, Eric Sogard and Hernan Perez will handle shortstop for the Brewers.
May 25 - 12:45 PM

Brewers acquired C Erik Kratz from the Yankees for a player to be named later or cash, purchased his contract from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

The Brewers have decided they'd rather have Kratz as their backup catcher than Jett Bandy, who was designated for assignment. Kratz, who turns 38 in a few weeks, is a career .203/.250/.366 hitter over parts of eight major league seasons.
