Colin Kaepernick completed 2-of-5 passes for 13 yards and rushed three times for 53 yards in the 49ers' third preseason game.
Kaepernick played an entire half, but the 49ers offense could not do anything in the first half. The offensive line struggled to protect Kaepernick, who was sacked twice including a safety. All of Kaepernick's rushing yards and eight of his passing yards came on the final drive of the first half. Kaepernick has completed 5-of-13 passes for 40 yards (3.07 YPA) and been sacked three times this preseason.
Packers RT Bryan Bulaga suffered an ankle injury in Saturday's preseason game.
The injury isn't considered serious, but it's a concern for an offense that's already lost Jordy Nelson. Bulaga should be considered day to day.
Andrew Luck completed 12-of-21 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason game.
Luck played (briefly) into the second half. He finishes the summer 22-of-36 for 275 yards (7.63 YPA) and a touchdown. Especially considering Aaron Rodgers' injury issues at receiver, Luck is this year's top fantasy quarterback.
Jeff Janis had three catches for 72 yards and a touchdown in the Packers' third preseason game.
Janis was behind Ty Montgomery in three-wide sets, but saw an expanded role after Randall Cobb went down. The Packers played Janis deep into the second half, with his touchdown coming on a 27-yard pass from Matt Blanchard. Cobb's shoulder injury has potential to create an opportunity for Janis.
Nick Foles completed 10-of-11 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason game against the Colts.
Foles played the entire first half, but took a seat at the break. All things considered, it wasn't a bad night for a quarterback who had little time to throw and put up with an embarrassing amount of penalties. Foles had a long completion to Tavon Austin called back by a ticky tack offensive pass interference call. Foles' lead feet were on display, however, and could be a big problem behind St. Louis' shaky line. The Chip Kelly product finishes the summer 16-of-23 for 215 yards (9.34 YPA), one touchdown and one pick. He's a low-end QB2.
Ryan Grant caught five passes for 64 yards in the Redskins' third preseason game.
Grant led the team with eight targets and could have had a bigger night had Kirk Cousins been more accurate on a couple throws. Grant is a good route runner with sure hands, but he is buried on the depth chart.
Redskins rookie WR Jamison Crowder caught four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown in his preseason debut.
After missing the first two preseason games with a hamstring injury, Crowder ran with the second-team offense on Saturday night. His touchdown came on a tipped pass from Kirk Cousins. Crowder should contribute on special teams as a rookie, but he needs to jump Andre Roberts on the depth chart to see consistent snaps on offense.
X-rays on Leonard Williams' bruised knee came back negative.
He injured himself in Saturday's preseason win over the Giants. Williams will have an MRI on Sunday to make sure it isn't anything serious. If Williams is healthy, he'll open the year as New York's starting right end while Sheldon Richardson serves a four-game suspension.
