Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Carl Crawford will not get any starts in Tampa Bay.

Roberts wants to keep the veteran outfielder off the Tropicana Field turf, and the Dodgers' next three games will be on the Rogers Centre turf in Toronto. It could be a very light week for Crawford.

Avisail Garcia (hamstring) is aiming to return to the White Sox starting lineup Wednesday.

Garcia tweaked his hamstring last Friday night and will take another day of rest Tuesday against the Red Sox. Jerry Sands is starting at DH and batting seventh.

Reds optioned RHP Drew Hayes to Triple-A Louisville.

The move clears a spot for John Lamb, who will start in place of the injured Jon Moscot (shoulder) on Tuesday night against the Giants and Jeff Samardzija. Hayes had a 7.56 ERA in 8 1/3 innings of relief.

Mike Moustakas is absent from the Royals' lineup Tuesday because of a bruised thumb.

Moustakas originally bruised the thumb in Anaheim and then jammed it in Seattle. He might also sit out Wednesday. Christian Colon is starting at third base Tuesday night against Nationals right-hander Tanner Roark.

Gordon Beckham (hamstring) is expected to begin a rehab assignment Saturday with Triple-A Gwinnett.

He'll get in a few more workouts before reporting to the Braves' Triple-A affiliate this weekend. Beckham has been on the disabled list since April 17 with a hamstring strain. He should get semi-regular playing time on the Atlanta infield once he's activated.
May 3 - 4:46 PM

Ender Inciarte (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Wednesday with Triple-A Gwinnett.

And he could be back on the Braves' active roster by the weekend if everything goes smoothly. Inciarte has been on the shelf since April 9 with a hamstring strain. Mallex Smith has been serving as Atlanta's primary center fielder and currently holds a rough .218/.295/.327 slash line over his first 18 major league games.
May 3 - 4:44 PM

Jake Lamb is out of Arizona's lineup Tuesday.

He probably would have been sitting anyway with the Marlins throwing left-hander Justin Nicolino, but beat writer Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic says Lamb has a minor shoulder issue. It'll be something worth monitoring the rest of the week. Brandon Drury is starting at third base and batting second on Tuesday night.

Yankees OF prospect Kendall Coleman jolted a pair of home runs Monday in a win for Low-A Charleston.

He drove in a career-high five runs as the RiverDogs cruised to a 7-2 victory over Delmarva. Coleman didn't have as much luck in the first game of Monday's doubleheader, going 0-for-3 in a 5-0 loss. The 20-year-old hadn't homered before Monday and is still hitting just .242 with 19 strikeouts in 62 at-bats. Coleman offers an interesting skill set but he has a long way to go.
