Chris O'Grady was lucky to escape with a no-decision after walking six batters and allowing three runs in 4 2/3 innings against the Reds on Saturday.

The 27-year-old rookie really struggled to command his pitches early in the game. He issued three walks in the first inning alone, including a bases-loaded free pass to Adam Duvall that forced in a run. After surviving that inning he looked good until allowing a solo home run to outfielder Patrick Kivlehan in the fifth frame. O'Grady struck out six batters and gave up a total of four hits. He has a 5.40 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 15 innings through his first three major league starts.

Scooter Gennett went 2-for-4 with an RBI as his club fell to the Marlins on Saturday.

His eighth-inning RBI single drew the Reds within a run but they weren't able to score again. Gennett has been marvelously productive as a super-utility player this season, batting .311/.362/.584 with 16 home runs and 55 RBI in just 238 at-bats. Earlier this week the club announced he would become the starting second baseman moving forward, sending Jose Peraza to the bench.

Billy Hamilton went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored during Saturday's loss to the Marlins.

In the first inning he reached base on an infield single and took second on a wild throw. He then stole third base and scored on a base-loaded walk by Adam Duvall. Hamilton has been hitting better of late. His 41 stolen bases lead the major leagues by a comfortable margin. He has a .253 batting average with two home runs, 24 RBI and 60 runs scored.

Robert Stephenson coughed up five runs in 5 1/3 innings and was charged with a loss to the Marlins in his first start of the season on Saturday.

He might have been OK if he hadn't had to face J.T. Realmuto in the ballgame. The Marlins' backstop ripped Stephenson for a pair of two-run homers to single-handedly ruin his day. Stephenson allowed eight hits and two walks while notching five strikeouts. He spent time in the Reds' bullpen early in the season, fared poorly and was sent back to Triple-A to pitch in the rotation. He turned in a 3.79 ERA in 40 1/3 innings on the farm and was rewarded with a call to the majors. The rebuilding Reds will probably give him some more chances but fantasy owners should look elsewhere. He has an 8.10 ERA and 1.97 ERA with 32 strikeouts and nine home runs in 30 major-league innings this year.

Marwin Gonzalez blasted a pinch-hit, three-run bomb in an 8-4 win over the Orioles on Saturday.

He came in to replace Colin Moran in the middle of an at-bat after the young third baseman took a foul ball to the eye and had to be carted off the field in the sixth inning. Gonzalez promptly launched a three-run tater to put his club in the lead to stay. He added a double in his second at-bat. The veteran infielder has been one of the biggest surprises in the game this year. He offers multi-position eligibility in fantasy leagues and is slashing .316/.394/.593 with 18 homers and 58 RBI in 79 games.

Mike Moustakas hit a pair of solo home runs, two of four Royals homers on the night, in a 7-2 win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Moustakas did his work against the Sox bullpen, victimizing David Holmberg and Brad Goldberg for the solo blasts in the sixth and eighth innings, respectively. Don't look now, but the 28-year-old is second in the American League with his 28 homers, and his 62 RBI also rank among the league's best. That's very good news for the impending free agent, who is setting himself up to get paid handsomely this winter.

Melky Cabrera went a perfect 4-for-4 with an RBI double and a home run in Saturday's loss to the Royals.

Cabrera had Royals starter Jason Vargas' number, swatting a solo homer off him in the third inning before knocking an RBI double in the fifth. The runs were the only two the Sox would muster on the evening. In the midst of a wasteland of a season for the club, Cabrera has quietly had a terrific offensive year, batting .296/.340/.446 with 13 homers, 56 RBI and 52 runs scored. Given those numbers, it wouldn't be shocking to see the 32-year-old free agent-to-be dealt before the trade deadline, but there hasn't been much smoke around Cabrera to date.

Evan Gattis went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in a win over the Orioles on Saturday.

He singled and scored in the fifth, then came to the plate with the bases loaded in the ninth and delivered an RBI single. The career .254 batter has a nice .292 batting average this year with 10 homers and 42 RBI in 59 games.
