Blue Jays reinstated 1B Chris Colabello from the restricted list; designated him off the 25-man roster.

It's not the same thing as him being designated for assignment, as Colabello remains on the 40-man roster. He'll just now have to work his way back up through the minors. Colabello was struggling before his suspension and hitting only .189/.262/.324 on his rehab assignment, so it's not a surprise that the Jays want him to continue to work on things in the minors.

Domingo Santana (elbow) began a rehab assignment with Low-A Wisconsin on Saturday.

Santana has been on the shelf since June 10 with right elbow soreness. He's likely to need at least a week or so worth of game action before being activated.

Blue Jays transferred RHP Gavin Floyd from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The club now has an extra 40-man roster spot to play with. Floyd could miss the rest of the season with a partial tear of his right lat muscle.

Braves signed C Michael McKenry to a minor league contract.

McKenry elected free agency after being removed from the Cardinals' 40-man roster and quickly caught on with a new club. A.J. Pierzynski's name has been brought up in trade rumors, so perhaps McKenry will get a shot to replace him.

Ezequiel Carrera (Achilles) went 0-for-5 at the plate in his return to the lineup Saturday.

Carrera missed a few days of action with a sore Achilles. With Jose Bautista (toe) due back Monday, Carrera's time in the starting lineup is about to come to an end.

Padres outfield prospect Manuel Margot was pulled from a game at Triple-A El Paso in the fourth inning Saturday.

Margot was spotted in the dugout and he isn't believed to be injured. The speculation is that he could be headed to the Padres to replace Melvin Upton, who appears likely to be traded at any moment. Margot is a top-50 prospect who's batting .306/.356/.434 with four homers and 24 steals for El Paso. He's worth a speculative add in mixed leagues.

Chad Kuhl left his start for Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday with right biceps discomfort.

It's unwelcome news at any time, but especially after Tyler Glasnow exited his start with the big club on the same day with a shoulder issue. How long Kuhl will be sidelined isn't known at this point, but it's fair to assume that he won't be starting for the Pirates for a while.
Jul 24 - 8:25 AM

Red Sox recalled RHP Joe Kelly from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Kelly tossed five scoreless innings with a 9/1 K/BB ratio since being moved to Pawtucket's bullpen. A relief role is probably where he's belonged all along, and he could be a weapon out of the 'pen.
