Steve Pearce went 1-for-3 and drove in the Blue Jays' lone run in Saturday's loss to the Yankees.

Pearce continues to perform when given the opportunity against opposing left-handers, doing so out of the leadoff spot in the lineup on Saturday. He singled in Randal Grichuk to trim their deficit to 2-1 in the fifth inning, but that would be the only time they would score. Pearce also drew a walk in the ballgame and is now slashing .304/.360/.565 with three homers and 10 RBI in 50 plate appearances this season.

Marcus Stroman was clobbered in Saturday's loss to the Yankees, giving up eight runs (six earned) on five hits over 5 1/3 innings.

The right-hander also issued four walks and struck out five. He gave up a two-run homer to Aaron Judge in the third inning, and that was it against him until the Yankees broke free for seven runs in the sixth. Stroman has been a disaster this season, registering an 8.55 ERA and 1.85 WHIP through 20 innings in his first four starts. He'll try to right the ship on Friday against the Rangers.

The White Sox announced Saturday that Danny Farquhar is in stable but critical condition, after suffering a brain hemmorrhage during the sixth inning of Friday's game against the Twins.

Farquhar suffered a ruptured aneurysm that caused his brain to bleed. He'll remain at the Rush University Medical Center where he'll receive treatment and close monitoring. Our thoughts and well wishes go out to his family at this difficult time. The White Sox will continue to update his status as appropriate in the coming days.

J.T. Realmuto is not in the Marlins' starting lineup on Saturday.

This is a planned day of rest for Realmuto as they ease him back into action. Bryan Holaday is starting behind the dish and batting eighth for the Marlins against Brent Suter and the Brewers on Saturday.

Braves designated RHP Josh Ravin for assignment.

The 30-year-old struggled in to appearances with the big league club, posting a 6.00 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. He's likely to pass through waivers unclaimed and should continue to function as organizational bullpen depth.
Apr 21 - 3:27 PM

Braves purchased the contract of RHP Miguel Socolovich from Triple-A Gwinnett.

The 31-year-old has made one appearance with the Braves this season, striking out two over two scoreless innings. He'll function in middle relief.
Apr 21 - 3:25 PM

Logan Morrison is not in the Twins' starting lineup on Saturday.

A day after slugging his first home run of the season, Morrison will take a seat against Rays' left-hander Blake Snell. Robbie Grossman is functioning as the designated hitter for the Twins and batting fourth on Saturday.

Tommy Pham was held out of the Cardinals' lineup on Saturday due to lingering groin tightness

The initial hope had been that the Cardinals were simply easing him back into action, but it looks now as he's still battling his groin issue. At the moment, it doesn't look like he'll require a trip to the disabled list, though be sure to monitor the situation to be sure.
