Frank Gore was held to 20 yards on nine carries in the 49ers' Week 7 loss to the Broncos.

Gore was held in check by the Broncos run defense and couldn't get anything going behind an offensive line that was missing three starters. The 49ers abandoned the run in the second half, with Carlos Hyde getting the majority of work over Gore late in the game. Gore is averaging just 4.1 YPC and has one touchdown in seven games. The 49ers could look to get Hyde more involved coming out of their Week 8 bye.

Demaryius Thomas had eight catches for 171 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday night's Week 7 win over the 49ers.

Thomas was on the receiving end of Peyton Manning's record-breaking touchdown. He was able to take advantage of being matched up with a less than fully healthy Tramaine Brock for most of the game. Thomas beat Perrish Cox deep down the field for his second score. After getting off to a slow start, Thomas has three straight games with at least 120 yards and a touchdown. He should be a top-three option against the Chargers in Week 8.

Ronnie Hillman had 14 carries for 74 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday night's Week 7 win over the 49ers, adding 29 yards on four receptions.

Hillman had two third-quarter touchdowns, including a 37-yard score up the middle the of the field. He stayed in for all red-zone situations, with his second touchdown coming from one yard out. Juwan Thompson had just six carries behind Hillman and wasn't used until late in the game. Hillman has put together two straight strong performances and could remain part of the backfield when Montee Ball returns. He'll be an RB2 in Week 8 against the Chargers.

Tavon Austin caught three passes for six yards and rushed for 16 yards on five carries in the Rams' Week 7 win over the Seahawks.

Austin was given five carries, second only behind Tre Mason's 18, as a traditional running back. He hits the hole hard, but is too small/fragile to make charging linebackers and linemen miss. As a receiver, we've just about given up hope on Austin. He doesn't do anything near the line of scrimmage with the ball in his hands. His jukes are rendered useless. Austin is simply a gadget player.

Daniel Thomas rushed for 25 yards on seven carries and caught three passes for 25 yards in the Dolphins' Week 7 win over the Bears.

Thomas operated as Lamar Miller's clear No. 2. He got a couple series to himself, at one point touching the ball on 5-of-7 plays on a second-quarter drive, but that was mostly it. With Knowshon Moreno (knee) done for the season, we'd expect Thomas to be Miller's backup for the duration of the season.
Oct 20 - 12:17 AM

Colin Kaepernick completed 24-of-39 passes for 263 yards, one touchdown, and an interception in Sunday night's Week 7 loss to the Broncos.

He added 18 yards on three carries. Kaepernick failed to lead the 49ers to a scoring drive in the second half. His lone touchdown came on a four-yard pass to Stevie Johnson in the back of the end-zone. The 49ers' offensive line struggled to pass protect all game, and Kaepernick was sacked six times. Kaepernick will be a borderline QB1 option in Week 9 when the 49ers come out of their bye.
Oct 20 - 12:11 AM

Peyton Manning completed 22-of-26 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday night's 42-17 win over the 49ers.

Manning broke Brett Favre's career touchdown record with an eight-yard pass to Demaryius Thomas in the second quarter. He picked apart an injured 49ers secondary, finishing with just four incompletions. With the Broncos playing on a short turnaround next week, Manning was rested for Brock Osweiler in the fourth quarter. He's now up to 1,848 yards, 19 touchdowns, and three interceptions through six games. The Broncos take on the Chargers in Week 8.

Raiders S Usama Young suffered a serious knee injury in Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Cardinals.

Young as carted off in the third quarter and coach Tony Sparano said the prognosis "probably won't be great." Young was only starting because of Tyvon Branch's season-ending foot injury sustained in Week 3. The next man up would be Brandian Ross.
