Aaron Judge belted a long solo home run versus the Tigers on Tuesday.

Judge, who is apparently still competing for the right field job, didn't start but came off the bench to take Bruce Rondon deep in the seventh inning. The towering outfielder has out-hit Aaron Hicks this spring, although both have played well. We're betting on Yankees manager Joe Girardi ultimately picking Judge.

Brandon McCarthy has won the final spot in the Dodgers' rotation.

He beat out Alex Wood, who will pitch out of the bullpen. McCarthy was probably going to get the spot, anyway, but Wood's hopes might have officially sunk when he was roughed up against the Reds on Tuesday. McCarthy holds a 4.85 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 7/1 K/BB ratio this spring. He should be deep mixed league worthy if he can stay healthy, although he might not have a rotation spot long with Julio Urias' impending arrival.

Marco Estrada whiffed five but permitted four runs on seven hits and two walks over four frames against the Phillies on Tuesday.

It wasn't the sharpest final tune-up before Estrada takes the ball on Opening Day, but it wasn't exactly alarming, either. The right-hander concludes spring training with a 4.76 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 13/5 K/BB ratio over 17 innings. He'll face the Orioles on the road next Monday.
Mar 28 - 11:30 PM

Aaron Nola lasted just 1 2/3 innings against the Blue Jays on Tuesday, surrendering five runs on seven hits and a walk.

He did strike out four and will finish the spring with 23 punchouts over 19 1/3 innings. However, Nola hasn't been very sharp in his last four outings and will end Grapefruit League play with an 8.38 ERA and 1.81 WHIP. He has insisted that his elbow is fine, though. Hopefully that's the case.

Dodgers optioned LHP Adam Liberatore to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Liberatore entered spring training without any limitations following elbow surgery last October, but he held a 4.05 ERA and 1.65 WHIP over six appearances. He's probably best off fine-tuning things in the minors for a bit.
Mar 28 - 11:21 PM

Dodgers optioned RHP Josh Fields to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Fields pitched well down the stretch for the Dodgers last season, but his velocity was down this spring and he posted a 9.72 ERA over nine appearances. He'll try to get back on track in the minors before rejoining the big league bullpen.
Mar 28 - 11:17 PM

Josh Donaldson reached base three times and smashed his first Grapefruit League homer on Tuesday versus the Phillies.

Donaldson doubled in the fourth inning and then took Hoby Milner deep in the fifth. He also drew a walk. They were the first two hits for the All-Star third baseman this spring in "official" games, as he got a slow start because of a calf injury. Hopefully he's rounding into form just in time for Opening Day.

Anthony DeSclafani (elbow) recently was given a platelet-rich plasma injection.

He's hoping the shot helps speed along the healing process as he rehabs a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching elbow. DeSclafani is shut down from throwing until at least mid-April, at which point he will be re-evaluated.
