Sportsnets' Shi Davidi reports that the Blue Jays will recall Lourdes Gurriel from Double-A New Hampshire on Friday.

Davidi says Gift Ngoepe and Tim Mayza will be sent down as Toronto adds Gurriel and activates Kendrys Morales (hamstring). Yuli's younger brother signed a seven-year, $22 million contract with the Jays a couple winters ago and is set to make his major league debut after getting off to a .347/.382/.510 start at New Hampshire. While an intriguing young talent, Gurriel really struggled in the minors last season and isn't guaranteed regular playing time. He's worth considering only in deep fantasy leagues.

Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reports that Teoscar Hernandez will remain in the majors after Kendrys Morales (hamstring) is activated from the disabled list Friday.

There was some worry that Hernandez would be sent down even though he's gone 9-for-24 at the plate, but the Blue Jays are doing the right thing and keeping him up. Hernandez will have to keep performing in order to stay in the lineup, but he needs to be owned in fantasy leagues while he's receiving regular at-bats.

Danny Duffy will start Saturday's game against the Tigers on short rest.

The Royals have decided against promoting a starter and will instead roll with Duffy on three days' rest even after he threw 100 pitches Tuesday. Fantasy owners should still use him given the good matchup, but the expectations should be knocked down a peg. Eric Skoglund, who started the other game of Tuesday's doubleheader, will start Sunday.

Royals recalled RHP Scott Barlow from Triple-A Omaha.

Barlow was the 26th man during Tuesday's doubleheader and is back again as the 26th man for Friday's doubleheader. He'll give the Royals' bullpen some length.

Tigers recalled OF Mike Gerber from Triple-A Toledo.

Gerber was added to the Tigers' 40-man roster over the winter. He'll be the 26th man for Friday's doubleheader and will be making his major league debut if he gets into a game.

Tigers recalled RHP Warwick Saupold from Triple-A Toledo.

Saupold has four scoreless appearances this season for the Tigers. He was starting at Toledo and thus will offer the Tigers' bullpen some length.

Indians optioned OF Greg Allen to Triple-A Columbus.

Allen was the 26th man for the Indians' series in Puerto Rico, striking out in his only plate appearance. He'll go back to playing regularly at Columbus.

Tigers optioned LHP Chad Bell to Triple-A Toledo.

The Tigers want a fresh bullpen arm after Bell pitched 1 2/3 innings Thursday. He'll be back up later this summer.
