Mark Ingram rushed four times for 13 yards and caught a 12-yard pass in the Saints' third preseason game.

Ingram was sharp on early outside-zone runs and caught a nifty screen pass on the Saints' opening drive, picking up a dozen. Ingram's increased role in the passing game has come to fruition this August, catching four balls for 57 yards over the last two exhibition games. Ingram is a low-end RB1 pick who could benefit in PPR if C.J. Spiller (knee) misses regular season time.

Falcons released TE Mickey Shuler.

A career journeyman, Shuler played three games for the Jaguars last season. Atlanta also waived LB Boris Anyama, WR Marquez Clark, RB Michael Ford, WR John Harris, DT Warren Herring, NT Derrick Hopkins, OT Matt Huffer, CB Michael Lee, G Eric Lefeld, LB Terrell Manning, DE Sam Meredith and C Valerian Ume-Ezeoke. Atlanta needs to make one more roster move before Tuesday's deadline.

Brandin Cooks caught two balls for 19 yards in the Saints' third preseason game.

Cooks caught Drew Brees' first two completions of the game, showing quicks and explosion for a first-down gain on his second catch. Cooks is up to seven catches for 164 yards and two touchdowns this preseason, in addition to a seven-yard run. His ADP is near WR1 range, which is unideal, but Cooks is a legitimate threat to top 100 offensive touches this year. He could get there on receptions alone and will get carries every now and then, too.

Brian Hoyer completed 7-of-11 passes for 82 yards in the Texans' third preseason game.

Hoyer's first completion went deep down the sideline to DeAndre Hopkins, gaining 29 yards over the top of Saints top CB Keenan Lewis. Hoyer led a touchdown drive on Houston's opening possession, hitting Hopkins and Cecil Shorts for the big gains before Alfred Blue dove in from a yard out to cap it. Through three preseason weeks, Hoyer is an efficient 16-of-26 passing for 201 yards and a touchdown, which came on a 58-yard bomb to Shorts.

Bucs waived RB Joey Iosefa, RB Dominique Brown, DT Quayshawne Buckley, OL Antoine Everett, LS Brandon Hartson, S Kimario McFadden, P Karl Schmitz, CB Al-Hajj Shabazz, DE George Uko and DE Jamal Young.

The Bucs still need to waive/release five more players before Tuesday afternoon's deadline to get down to 75. Iosefa was the No. 231 overall pick of the draft, but getting waived at this stage of the summer suggests he isn't a candidate for the practice squad.

Falcons placed OT Lamar Holmes on the reserve/PUP list.

He'll be ineligible to play until Week 7. Holmes was a major disappointment in Atlanta before his foot injuries, and never looked like a good fit for new OC Kyle Shanahan's zone scheme. Holmes' Falcons future is uncertain.
Aug 30 - 5:09 PM

Chiefs TE Demetrius Harris (foot) returned to practice on Sunday.

He's been activated from the PUP list. Harris has broken the same foot twice over the past two seasons. He'll now try to put heat on impressive fifth-round pick James O'Shaughnessy behind locked-in starter Travis Kelce.

Tre Mason - RB - Rams

Rams coach Jeff Fisher said Sunday that Tre Mason (hamstring) is questionable for Week 1.

Mason missed early-camp practice time with a hamstring injury. He resumed practicing recently, but aggravated the injury in Saturday night's preseason game. The Rams view the injury as "mild," but Mason needs to avoid setbacks to be available for Week 1 against Seattle. Benny Cunningham is the Rams' No. 3 running back behind Mason and Todd Gurley (ACL).
