Odubel Herrera is not in the Phillies' lineup Sunday.

He's getting a day off with the Dodgers throwing lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu. Aaron Altherr is in center field, while Daniel Nava is in left field.
Apr 30 - 1:30 PM

Aaron Sanchez left Sunday's start versus the Rays after just one inning.

Sanchez was making his first start since returning from minor surgery to remove part of the nail from his right middle finger. It would appear that his finger is still an issue, but the Blue Jays should update his status shortly.
Apr 30 - 1:27 PM

Pirates purchased the contract of C John Bormann from High-A Bradenton.

The 24-year-old is jumping three levels to the majors to serve as the Pirates' third catcher. Bormann, 24, has hit just .232/.282/.310 in the minors but has a good glove. The addition of Bormann suggests that Francisco Cervelli might not be healthy. Cervelli is not playing Sunday.
Apr 30 - 1:22 PM

Pirates optioned OF Daniel Ortiz to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Ortiz was up for one day and didn't make an appearance. He's being replaced on the roster by catcher John Bormann.
Apr 30 - 1:19 PM

A.J. Pollock is absent from the Diamondbacks' lineup Sunday.

He's just getting a day off. Yasmany Tomas and Chris Owings are also sitting out, as the D'Backs have Jeremy Hazelbaker in center field and in the leadoff spot, Daniel Descalso in left field and Nick Ahmed at shortstop.

Lucas Duda felt a "twinge" in his left elbow in his first rehab game with High-A St. Lucie on Friday, according to Mets general manager Sandy Alderson.

It explains why he wasn't in St. Lucie's lineup Saturday or Sunday. It doesn't appear to be a major setback at this point, but Duda will be shut down until at least Tuesday. We should know more about his potential return later this week.
Apr 30 - 12:55 PM

Phillies optioned RHP Luis Garcia to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

He's making room for Nick Pivetta, who will start Sunday. Garcia is being demoted in spite of five scoreless relief appearances this season.
