Mike Moustakas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-2 loss against the Rangers.

Moose things interesting with a solo homer off of Jake Diekman to slice the Texas lead in half. He snapped a nine-game homer drought with the solo shot. After smacking eight bombs in April, he managed four in May and just two so far in June. He is hitting just .206 (13-for-63) through 18 games in June to drop his average from .280 to .263.

Brian Dozier went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored during Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Red Sox.

He doubled and scored in the fourth inning, then doubled again to drive in a run in the eighth. The second baseman's bat has taken a big step backward this year and he is going to have to pick up the pace in a hurry if he wants to match his stats from the last two seasons. He hit 42 home runs and stole 18 bases in his monster 2016 season but has just 10 homers and four steals to go with a .225 batting average as we near the halfway point of the 2018 season.

Jeff Junis allowed three earned runs, five hits and four walks with four strikeouts over six innings in a loss against the Rangers on Wednesday.

Junis threw 55 of his 91 pitches for strikes, but he managed first-pitch strikes to just 13 of the 27 batters he faced while also hitting a batter. The quality start, his third in the past five outings, wasn't enough for him to avoid losing for the fifth consecutive contest. He hasn't won since May 18, a span of six outings. He'll try to get it right Monday against the Angels to kick off a two-start week.

Max Kepler went 1-for-3 and clubbed a two-run home run in a win over the Red Sox on Wednesday.

His fourth-inning shot off starter David Price gave the Twins the lead to stay. The outfielder lurks on the fringes of fantasy usefulness, slashing .226/.316/.414 with eight homers, 28 RBI and 29 runs scored in 68 games.
Jun 21 - 12:28 AM

Fernando Rodney retired the side in order in the ninth inning to snare a save against the Red Sox on Wednesday.

His brilliant run of success grows longer. The veteran closer nearly lost the job early in the season but has been one of the best in the business the last couple months. He now has 16 saves with a 2.84 ERA in 27 appearances. The 41-year-old is the active leader in career saves with 316, three more than Craig Kimbrel.
Jun 21 - 12:25 AM

Lance Lynn allowed one unearned run through five innings and took home a win against the Red Sox on Wednesday.

He yielded just three base hits and no earned runs but it wasn't all good -- he issued five walks, struck out only two and required 97 pitches (just 50 strikes) to get through five frames. The bullpen helped him out with four innings of shutout relief. Lynn improved his record to 5-5 with a 4.64 ERA in 14 starts. Walks have been a problem all year and have led to a scary 1.60 WHIP, luckily he's served up just seven home runs.
Jun 21 - 12:19 AM

Mookie Betts singled twice in four chances as his team lost to the Rays on Wednesday.

His two hits represented half of Boston's total for the game against Lance Lynn and crew. Betts has been unstoppable at the plate this year, rocking a .340/.424/.688 slash line with 18 home runs, 38 RBI and 55 runs scored despite missing two weeks with an abdominal strain earlier this month. He also has 14 stolen bases. He has almost as many walks (29) as strikeouts (32).
Jun 21 - 12:12 AM

David Price took a loss to the Twins after allowing three runs in six innings on Wednesday.

It was a quality start but it wasn't quality enough. He served up a solo home run to Robbie Grossman in the first inning and a two-run shot to Max Kepler in the fourth. Price burned 100 pitches while fanning three, walking one and surrendering seven knocks in the contest. He falls to 8-5 with a 3.81 ERA and 1.21 WHIP after 15 starts.
