Cowboys waived SS Ahmad Dixon.

Dixon, a seventh-round rookie out of Baylor, loses his roster spot to C.J. Spillman.

Odell Beckham (hamstring) was working on the side with trainers during Monday's practice.

Coach Tom Coughlin has already admitted that he doesn't expect to have Beckham for Week 1 against the Lions. The No. 12 overall pick has fallen way behind as he's battled this hamstring issue since OTAs.

Titans signed OLB Quentin Groves.

Groves, 30, was cut by the Browns in June and then by the Texans on Saturday. Now he's reunited with DC Ray Horton and head coach Ken Whisenhunt, who he played for in Arizona in 2012. Groves will be a special teamer and reserve pass-rusher for the Titans.

The new Bucs coaching staff has reportedly changed their opinion on Doug Martin as a pass-catcher.

The Lovie Smith regime came to Tampa thinking they needed to find a passing back, which led to the selection of Charles Sims at No. 69 overall. But that opinion "changed in a big way after Martin used training camp and the preseason to show his versatility." Now Sims (ankle) is out until at least Week 10, Martin is shaping up as a three-down back and the Bucs have added a nasty run-blocker in Logan Mankins. The Muscle Hamster's arrow is pointing up.

Marques Colston says he feels healthier than he has in the last two years.

Colston has only missed one game over the last two seasons, but has been limited at times by foot woes. They appear to be in the rear-view mirror now, making him a value at his current late sixth-round ADP. In the third preseason game, Drew Brees targeted Colston four times in the first quarter, producing two catches and a 13-yard touchdown.

The Bears have reportedly tweaked their scheme "to find creative ways to put [Brandon] Marshall in more advantageous matchups."

Marshall is saying 2014 will be his Michael Jackson "Thriller" season. It makes sense, as he's not coming off any surgery for the first time in recent memory and has Bromance partner Jay Cutler fully healthy. Most importantly, he's in Year 2 with dominant passing game guru Marc Trestman at the controls. Marshall, still in his prime at age 30, is a very realistic candidate for a third straight 100-catch season.

Coaches have told ESPN's Dan Graziano that Andre Williams is "still a bit too raw for them to count on him extensively, at least at the beginning of the season."

Rashad Jennings is shaping up as both the passing back and the primary ball carrier for the Giants. Williams will sprinkle in little for short-yardage, change-of-pace and goal-line work. We're not blown away by Jennings' raw talent, but there aren't many three-down workhorse backs left in the league. His current ADP is in the late-third or early-fourth round.
