Rangers sent INF Pete Kozma outright to Triple-A Round Rock.

Kozma cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and has decided to remain in the organization rather than elect free agency. He'll represent utility depth.

Johnny Cueto (blisters) has resumed playing light catch.

Cueto is a little over a week removed from being placed on the disabled list due to multiple blisters on his pitching hand. He's doing much better now and it sounds like he should be able to rejoin the Giants' rotation in relatively short order.

Mark Melancon (elbow) threw another bullpen session Sunday.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy was encouraged by how the reliever looked and felt and is hoping Melancon can return in the next couple weeks. The skipper admitted that they've been slow-playing the closer's return because of where they are in the standings. Sam Dyson has been handling the ninth inning in Melancon's absence and has done a nice job.

Robinson Chirinos was pulled from Sunday's game against the Rays after a collision at home plate resulted in a sprained left ankle.

Rougned Odor's throw home in the bottom of the fourth inning took Chirinos into Adeiny Hechavarria and the catcher was knocked over (he did hang on to the ball). After initially staying in the game, Chirinos was pinch-hit for by Jonathan Lucroy in the top of the fifth. He'll undergo X-rays.

Yankees acquired 1B Ryan McBroom from the Blue Jays in exchange for INF/OF Rob Refsnyder.

McBroom, 25, has batted .243/.321/.402 with 12 homers at the Double-A level this season. He was ranked by MLB.com as Toronto's No. 30 prospect.

Blue Jays acquired INF/OF Rob Refsnyder from the Yankees in exchange for 1B Ryan McBroom.

Refsnyder will head to Triple-A Buffalo for now. The 26-year-old sports an underwhelming .241/.312/.332 batting line over 262 plate appearances at the big league level, but he's hit well consistently in the minors and offers versatility.

Daniel Norris (groin) left Sunday's rehab start at Triple-A Toledo with a trainer after throwing 32 pitches in the first inning.

The southpaw gave up two runs on two hits and two walks before being pulled. It's unclear at this point whether Norris aggravated his groin injury or perhaps is dealing with a new ailment, but the Tigers should update his status later Sunday.

Trea Turner will undergo an X-ray Tuesday to see how much his fractured right wrist has healed.

Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo said Sunday that Turner's recovery is coming along nicely but the outfielder has yet to resume baseball activities. It's unclear whether he might be cleared for activities if Tuesday's exam shows sufficient healing. Turner has already missed nearly four weeks of action.
