Jordan Zimmermann picked up his first win of the season after allowing four runs in 5 1/3 innings Thursday against the Orioles.

Zimmermann gave up three homers, yet he saw his ERA shrink from 8.18 to 7.71 today. Through increased use of his slider, he has managed to fan 18 batters over 16 1/3 innings in his four starts. He remains a long way from being any use in fantasy leagues, though.

According to MLB.com's Mark Bowman, Anibal Sanchez (hamstring) may miss "just a couple weeks."

Alex Cobb surrendered seven runs -- five earned -- in 3 1/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Tigers.

Cobb was unlucky early in the outing, but the Tigers hit the ball harder as the afternoon went on. He's allowed 10 hits in both of his starts since joining the Orioles, giving up a total of 15 runs -- 12 earned -- in seven innings. It's still spring training for him, so some early struggles are no surprise, even if this is worse than anyone should have expected.

Tyler Flowers (oblique) is expected to begin a rehab assignment this weekend.

Leonys Martin went 3-for-5 with a homer and a triple Thursday in the win over the Orioles.

Martin had more RBI today (four) than in his previous 14 games combined (three). He's been an asset as the Tigers' stopgap center fielder, batting .295/.358/.475 through 61 at-bats.

Jose Iglesias's bat woke up Thursday, as he went 3-for-5 with a triple, a double and three RBI against the Orioles.

Iglesias was just 6-for-47 with two RBI this year before his big game today. The Tigers are hoping he hits so as to amass some trade value before they dump him in July.

Manny Machado homered twice and doubled Thursday against the Tigers.

It's Machado's second multihomer game this month and the 16th of his career. He's batting .338 with a 1.037 OPS for an Orioles team that's just 5-14 so far. The trade rumors are going to start up again at some point.

Adam Jones delivered three doubles and knocked in two runs in Thursday's loss.

Believe it or not, it's the first time in his career that Jones had had three doubles in a game. He typically hasn't been a very big doubles guy. He did have 39 in 2012 and 35 in 2013, but those are his only two seasons over 30. In 2016, he had just 19 in 152 games. Coming into today, he had one in 18 games this year.
