Jonathan Stewart (knee) returned to practice Wednesday.

Oct 1 - 12:43 PM

Cecil Shorts (hamstring) says he's week-to-week.

He won't play this week against the Steelers. With Marqise Lee (hamstring) also out, Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns will play every snap at receiver in a favorable matchup. Shorts has become far too injury-prone to hold in fantasy.
Oct 1 - 12:33 PM

Marqise Lee (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 5 against the Steelers.

With Cecil Shorts (hamstring) also looking doubtful, it'll be the Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns show, with Ace Sanders and Mike Brown chipping in in three- and four-wide sets. Lee is questionable at best for Week 6 against Tennessee.
Oct 1 - 12:22 PM

Calvin Johnson (ankle) said he "definitely" feels better now than he did at this point last week.

After missing the bulk of practice last week, Megatron was essentially used as a decoy in the win over the Jets when he caught 2-of-2 targets for a measly 12 yards. Following the game, Johnson hinted he was playing at considerably less than 100 percent. Johnson will likely be limited most of the week once again, but expect him to play against the Bills and see plenty of double-coverage.
Oct 1 - 12:01 PM

Cardinals re-signed ILB Desmond Bishop.

Bishop spent three weeks on Arizona's roster this summer, but was released ahead of Week 1. At 30 years old and coming off injuries the past couple seasons, Bishop is merely a replacement-level talent. He'll chip in on teams.
Oct 1 - 11:19 AM

Coach Chip Kelly said Jordan Matthews will remain in the slot-role only, leaving Riley Cooper as the outside receiver opposite Jeremy Maclin.

Kelly said Cooper is playing well, though he's dropped a few passes and is averaging less than four catches and 31 yards per week with no scores. Matthews will continue to play between Maclin and Cooper because Kelly "wants that big, physical" slot presence. The rookie will see his 6-7 targets per game and remains a high-upside WR4. Owners will have to deal with inconsistency.
Oct 1 - 11:02 AM

Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Bishop Sankey will likely get more reps than he has all season against the Browns this week.

"You will see (more reps for Sankey). That's coming," Whisenhunt said. "And I think you'll see more of that earlier in the game this week." Sankey has actually led the Titans' running backs in snaps the past two weeks with 22 and 29, respectively, but they've been coming in the second half when the Titans have been getting plastered on the scoreboard. Whisenhunt is finally realizing Shonn Greene and Dexter McCluster aren't good. Sankey has managed 127 yards and one touchdown on 19 touches the past two weeks. Cleveland has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Sankey has RB2 upside.
Oct 1 - 10:49 AM

Tony Romo (back) will not practice Wednesday.

Why mess with what's working? Romo has sat out the last two Wednesdays, and he's posted passer ratings of 116.8 and 137.4 the past two weeks with the Cowboys 2-0. He'll be back on the field Thursday. Romo is a low-end QB1.
