Giants coach Tom Coughlin said he does not know when Victor Cruz (calf) will resume practicing.

Cruz is "very much in doubt" for Week 1 after missing much of the preseason with inflammation in his calf. He is also coming off a devastating knee injury. Rueben Randle would handle No. 2 duties if Cruz is unable to go.

Eagles waived RB Raheem Mostert.

The Eagles would undoubtedly like to stash Mostert on their practice squad, but the rookie will have to pass through waivers first. After he tore up the preseason with 351 total yards, that is not a foregone conclusion.
Sep 4 - 5:30 PM

Patriots waived QB Ryan Lindley.

Lindley is no longer needed with Tom Brady's suspension lifted. The Patriots will carry only two quarterbacks.
Sep 4 - 5:27 PM

Patriots waived WRs DaVaris Daniels and Zach D'Orazio, RB Tony Creecy, OG Ryan Groy, TE Jake Bequette, OL Caylin Hauptmann, OT Chris Martin, LB James Morris, and DLs Casey Walker and A.J. Pataiali'i.

Bequette was released with an injury settlement, making him a free agent. Daniels was recently claimed by the Patriots off waivers from the Vikings, but ostensibly only to serve as a short-term practice body at the end of camp.
Sep 4 - 5:23 PM

Free agent TE Brandon Bostick worked out for the Jets.

Bostick didn't make it past first-round cuts with Minnesota, catching just one pass in three preseason games. The Jets need tight end depth with Jace Amaro (shoulder surgery) out for the year. Bostick could give OC Chan Gailey an H-back behind Jeff Cumberland and Kellen Davis.
Sep 4 - 5:22 PM

Jaguars waived TE Ben Koyack.

A seventh-round pick out of Notre Dame, Koyack made no noise during his roughly-four months on the roster. He might be a practice squad candidate.
Sep 4 - 5:18 PM

Jaguars waived RB Storm Johnson.

The No. 222 overall pick of last year's draft, Johnson made one start and notched 29 carries as a rookie, but averaged just 3.0 yards per tote. He's pretty much the definition of a replacement-level back. The Jaguars have also waived CB Jeremy Harris, TE Ben Koyack, WR Neal Sterling, DE Cap Capi, DT Richard Ash, DE Camaron Beard, WR Kasey Closs, OG Will Corbin, TE Connor Hamlett, DE Ike Igbinosun, WR Erik Lora, OG Chris Reed, CB Rashaad Reynolds, LB Todd Thomas, CB Peyton Thompson and WR Tony Washington.
Sep 4 - 5:17 PM

The Washington Post doesn’t consider DeAngelo Hall’s roster spot in jeopardy.

There was speculation over Hall’s status after playing in the preseason finale, but he’s expected to be one of the Redskins’ top three corners. Hall could start Week 1 opposite Chris Culliver, with David Amerson or Justin Rogers playing in nickel.
