Yankees optioned INF Ronald Torreyes to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The 25-year-old has been extremely productive for the Yankees this season, slashing .339/.349/.435 with six RBI in 63 plate appearances. He'll get another chance with the big league club later this summer.

Russell Martin will make his first career start at shortstop in Saturday's game against the Phillies.

Martin has appeared in one game at the position in his career, logging one inning defensively earlier this year. He has been a disaster at the plate this season, slashing .157/.287/.322 with five homers and 13 RBI in 136 plate appearances.

Marlins recalled INF J.T. Riddle from Triple-A New Orleans.

He'll function as the team's primary shortstop while Miguel Rojas shifts over to cover third base in place of the injured Martin Prado. Riddle hit .250/.282/.355 with three homers and 31 RBI in 70 games for the Marlins in 2017. He should have value as a middle infielder in NL-onnly formats, but is unlikely to carry any mixed league value.
May 26 - 12:06 PM

The Marlins plan to shift Miguel Rojas over to third base to cover for the injured Martin Prado.

The Marlins have recalled J.T. Riddle from Triple-A to function as their primary shortstop. Rojas is hitting .261/.330/.415 with seven homers, 23 RBI and two stolen bases on the season. Gaining third base eligibility should give his minimal fantasy value a slight boost.

Marlins placed INF Martin Prado on the 10-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.

Prado suffered the injury while running to first base during Friday night's game. He's expected to be sidelined for a substantial amount of time and could miss the remainder of the season. He can be safely dropped in all mixed leagues.
May 26 - 11:59 AM

Anibal Sanchez (hamstring) could start for the Braves on Tuesday after pitching well in his latest minor league rehab start at Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday.

Sanchez struck out four and allowed just one hit and a walk over three scoreless innings in Friday's outing. If he does get the call to return on Tuesday, he'll likely be on a limited pitch count which would make him an poor streaming option against the Mets.
May 26 - 11:36 AM

Rays activated OF Carlos Gomez from the 10-day disabled list.

As anticipated, Gomez returned as soon as he was eligible from his right groin injury. He has been a major disappointment this season, slashing just .200/.252/.345 with five homers, 11 RBI and three stolen bases.
May 26 - 10:37 AM

Rafael Devers is absent from the Red Sox' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Braves.

It's just a routine day of rest for Devers against Braves' left-hander Sean Newcomb. Eduardo Nunez will start in his place at the hot corner and bat seventh for the Red Sox.
