Former North Carolina WR Dwight Jones is currently on the Jets' practice squad.
Jones was considered a surefire early-round prospect before the 2012 draft, only to fall out of it entirely due to character concerns. He later dropped out of Texans camp to care for his dying son. "I wasn't mentally prepared to play football," Jones conceded. Jones will turn 25 in January. He could earn a reserve/future contract with the Jets and go to spring conditioning.
Joe Flacco did wind up undergoing an MRI on his knee, which revealed a "mild" MCL sprain.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Flacco will wear a brace on the knee when he starts against New England, as expected. Flacco practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, confirming he's on track to play. Flacco has been a fantasy QB2 throughout the season. That will not change in fantasy championship week.
The Contra Costa Times' Steve Corkran believes 2013 sixth-round pick Latavius Murray "looks the part and has all the skills" to be the Raiders' starting tailback in 2014.
Dynasty leaguers should be looking to stockpile potential this time of year, and Murray has it with a largely unimpeded path to Oakland's 2014 starting job. Darren McFadden and Rashad Jennings are both impending free agents. Murray goes 6-foot-3, 223 pounds and ran a 4.38 forty before April's draft. He wound up spending his entire rookie year as a "redshirt" on injured reserve.
Ray Rice missed Ravens practice with a thigh injury Wednesday.
The Ravens just played on Monday night, so expecting players to practice on that short of rest never seems logical. There are no indications Rice is in danger of missing Week 16. Baltimore faces New England in fantasy title week.
Reggie Bush is not listed on the Lions' Week 16 injury report.
He's over his calf injury and will be an RB1 against the Giants.
Brandon Pettigrew (ankle) was spotted hobbling through the Lions' locker room on crutches Wednesday.
Joseph Fauria and Dorin Dickerson were Detroit's only healthy tight ends at practice. Coach Jim Schwartz admitted afterwards that Pettigrew's left ankle injury was the "most concerning" of all Lions players who missed Wednesday's session. Pettigrew is shaping up as questionable at best to face the Giants.
Michael Floyd (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
Floyd has played through the ankle issue the past two weeks, and he's registered just four catches for 59 yards. He's a borderline WR3/4 this week at Seattle.
Andre Ellington (thigh) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
Ellington will be good to go Sunday against the Seahawks on the road. It's a brutal matchup for fantasy Super Bowl week. Ellington is just a flex option.
