David Robertson struck out all three batters he faced, earning the save in Friday's 1-0 win over the Orioles.

Robertson fanned Matt Wieters, Chris Davis and J.J. Hardy in an impressive display of casual dominance. Robertson has had poor moments this season and is 17-for-21 in save chances, but he also carries a 48/7 K/BB ratio over 33 2/3 innings. He holds a 2.67 ERA and should continue to put up big strikeout numbers from the closer role.

Adam Jones went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Friday's loss to the White Sox.

Batting third and fourth in the lineup, Jones and Matt Wieters went a combined 0-for-8. For his part, Jones is slashing .287/.334/.463 with 10 homers and 37 RBI. He's hit 25 or more homers in each of the last four seasons.

Matt Wieters went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts in Friday's loss to the White Sox.

Wieters played poorly, but the same can be said for the entire Oriole squad, as the team did not score in the game. Coming off of major elbow surgery, Wieters is hitting .238/.265/.492 with three homers and 10 RBI over 63 at-bats. These numbers are very much in line with his hitting prior to the injury, though the on-base percentage should rise as the season moves along. So far, so good.
Jul 3 - 11:01 PM

John Danks pitched a nice game on Friday, shutting out the Orioles over seven innings pitched.

Danks and Orioles starter Ubaldo Jimenez were locked into a pitcher's duel, but it was Danks who failed to blink. He scattered five hits over seven innings to go with five strikeouts and two walks. The lovely outing helped drop his ERA from 5.38 to 4.95. He also holds a 1.44 WHIP and 60/24 K/BB ratio (in 88 1/3 innings), though, and he'll have to put in a number of quality starts to really warrant any sort of fantasy consideration. He'll try to build off the Friday shutout when he faces the Blue Jays in his next start.
Jul 3 - 10:56 PM

Ubaldo Jimenez picked up a tough-luck loss against the White Sox on Friday, going down in defeat despite allowing just one run over seven innings.

Jimenez allowed a solo homer to Jose Abreu in the third inning. And that was it. A rare shutout gem of a start by John Danks was all that prevented Jimenez from picking up his fifth win in a row. Still, he's been rolling and now owns a shiny 2.96 ERA, solid 1.26 WHIP and a 93/29 K/BB ratio over 94 1/3 innings. A Wednesday afternoon road contest with the Twins is up next on his schedule as he tries to return to the win column.
Jul 3 - 10:53 PM

Juan Uribe hit a go-ahead solo home run in the seventh inning of Friday's 2-1 win over the Phillies.

Uribe's solo shot off of Adam Morgan in the seventh inning snapped a 1-1 tie and served as the final run to score in the game. The bomb was his seventh of the season and gave him 18 RBI for the year. A dependable, if unspectacular, player throughout his career, Uribe is currently hitting a dependable, if unspectacular, .279/.330/.426.
Jul 3 - 10:50 PM

Domonic Brown went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in Friday's loss to the Braves.

The poor game is nothing new for Brown, who is currently hitting just .186/.273/.237 in 59 at-bats. The Phillies have committed to giving him playing time. There's no reason that fantasy owners have to do likewise.
Jul 3 - 10:46 PM

Cesar Hernandez went 1-for-3 with an RBI single in Friday's loss to the Braves.

Hernandez's RBI single off Julio Teheran in the fourth inning would score the only run that the Phillies managed in the game. While his power is almost non-existent, he should continue to see at-bats as long as he's able to keep up the average portion of his .285/.374/.376 slash-line.
