Juwan Thompson rushed seven times for 24 yards and two touchdowns in Denver's Week 8 win over the Chargers.

Thompson vultured workhorse Ronnie Hillman for two- and one-yard scores in the second half. The touchdowns were his second and third of the season. Thompson has been running well as a situational hammer, but will likely lose that role upon Montee Ball's (groin) return.

Ladarius Green caught his lone target for nine yards in San Diego's Week 8 loss to the Broncos.

It just isn't happening for the explosive third-year pro, who's been glued to the sideline as Antonio Gates has exploded for six touchdowns over his past four games. Green has seven total targets over the same stretch. Keep Green stashed in Dynasty leagues, but quarantined to the waiver wire in re-draft formats.

Eddie Royal caught 3-of-3 targets for 29 yards in San Diego's Week 8 loss to the Broncos.

Royal's predictable fade from his early-season touchdown surge continues unabated. Royal has just nine total grabs for 138 yards and one score over his past four games. Players looking for 12-14 team league value are going to struggle to find it. Royal will score more touchdowns, but they'll be impossible to predict.

Malcom Floyd caught 4-of-7 targets for 58 yards in San Diego's Week 8 loss to the Broncos.

Floyd used his unreal body control to nearly reel in two more catches on difficult deep targets, but had no shot on his third missed connection, a Philip Rivers pick thrown into double coverage. Floyd briefly left with a shoulder injury, but was quickly deemed probable and returned. Floyd is one of the league's very best deep threats, but it doesn't translate to more than WR4/5 value in fantasy leagues.

Wes Welker caught 2-of-2 targets for five yards in Denver's Week 8 win over the Chargers.

Welker's biggest impact of the night came when he fell on Emmanuel Sanders' fourth-quarter fumble. Welker has now been limited to six grabs for 63 yards and a touchdown over his past three games. We know Peyton Manning likes to get his weapons going after slow stretches, but Welker is shaping up a distant fourth on the Broncos' targets totem pole. He's settling in as a low-upside WR3/4.

Julius Thomas caught 2-of-6 targets for 23 yards in Denver's Week 8 win over the Chargers.

Both the catches and yards were Thomas' fewest of the season. The zero-score effort was also Thomas' second straight after he started off 2014 with nine touchdowns across his first five games. The scoring rate was bound to regress, but Thomas will remain one of the league's very best red-zone threats moving forward. He's a top-three weekly option at tight end.
Oct 24 - 12:21 AM

Demaryius Thomas caught 8-of-12 targets for 105 yards in Denver's Week 8 win over the Chargers.

Thomas failed to score for the first time since Week 3, but both the 100-yard and eight-catch efforts were his fourth straight. Thomas ate up the Chargers' secondary for yards after the catch, but watched Emmanuel Sanders gobble up all the Broncos' primo end-zone looks. Playing the best football of his already excellent career, Thomas would be an All-Pro were the season to end today.

Branden Oliver rushed 13 times for 36 yards in San Diego's Week 8 loss to the Broncos, adding seven catches for an additional 27 yards.

Oliver was lucky to escape with the yards that he did, as he simply got gobbled up by the Broncos' athletic front seven. Oliver didn't have a prayer on over half his carries, and was sitting on -3 yards through his first 12 touches. The Broncos were simply getting too much penetration. Oliver's yardage total would have been even less impressive if not for a meaningless 23-yard scamper on the game's final play. Oliver remains a workload monster, but has another tough Week 9 matchup in the Dolphins.
