Brian Dozier slugged a solo homer Friday against the Diamondbacks.

Dozier went 1-for-4 with a walk on the night. Max Kepler, Miguel Sano, Eduardo Escobar, and Byron Buxton also homered in the Twins’ victory. After hitting 13 homers in the first half, Dozier is already up to 11 home runs since the All-Star break. He’s up to his old tricks once again.

David Peralta went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored Friday versus the Twins.

Peralta had two singles along with his homer. He’s now gone deep in three out of his last five games. He’s batting .307/.361/.478 with 13 homers, 42 RBI, seven steals, and 67 runs scored over 105 games this season. It has been an impressive bounceback after his injury-riddled 2016 campaign.

Brandon Phillips had a nice night versus his former squad, going 2-for-5 with a run scored against the Reds on Friday.

He singled and scored in the eighth frame as the Braves attempted to rally from a big deficit. The multiple Gold Glove winner has been moved from second base to third base to make room for rookie Ozzie Albies. He has a .284 batting average with 10 home runs, 45 RBI, 61 runs and nine stolen bases in 110 games.

Matt Adams went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's loss to the Reds.

He opened the scoring in the second inning by homering off starter Sal Romano. Adams had a nice run of fantasy value while Freddie Freeman was on the disabled list but his playing time has been diminishing of late. Matt Kemp is expected to be activated from the disabled list soon so Adams will probably function as power off the bench most days. He has a .273 batting average with 17 home runs and 54 RBI.

Jay Bruce went 3-for-5 with two homers and five RBI in the Indians' 10-1 rout of the Royals on Friday.

Bruce was even better for the Reds last year than he was for the Mets this year, but he floundered after the deadline deal that sent him to New York. This time around, he's been outstanding post-trade, going 13-for-32 with three homers, four doubles and 11 RBI in nine games to date.

Edwin Encarnacion hit his seventh homer of the month and singled Friday against the Royals.

Six of those homers have come in his last nine games. He's up to 28 homers for the year, and it certainly looks like he'll finish with at least 34 for the sixth straight season. His career high is 42, established in 2012 and matched last season.

Nomar Mazara (knee) had his knee examined after Fridays' game and it was determined that he has no structural issues.

Mazara tweaked his knee during Friday's game, but it appears to be a minor issue. Look for him to return to the lineup at some point over the weekend.

Ian Kennedy fell to 4-9 after allowing five runs in 2 2/3 innings Friday against the Indians.

Kennedy has given up 18 earned runs in 19 innings this month, pushing his ERA back over 5.00 for the first time since mid-June. It sure doesn't look like he'll be opting out of the final three years and $49 million in his Royals contract at season's end.
