Eugenio Suarez struck out all three times he was up Wednesday in the loss to the Dodgers.

Suarez was doing just fine as the Reds' No. 2 hitter last month, but coincidence or not, he's struggled ever since he was dropped in the order. He'll pick it up again eventually, but he's not in a great situation while hitting sixth or seventh for a bad Reds team.

Carlos Torres got the surprise save by pitching a perfect 13th inning of Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Braves.

Torres breezed through a 1-2-3 inning to secure his first save since 2014. He's been a workhorse for the Brewers' bullpen, as he's already covered 23 1/3 innings and has a respectable 3.47 ERA with 22 strikeouts.

C.J. Wilson (shoulder) threw four-plus innings of one-run ball Wednesday in his minor league rehab debut with High-A Inland Empire.

Wilson needed just 56 pitches to make it into the top of the fifth inning, when he was yanked after yielding a leadoff single. The veteran left-hander whiffed four batters and issued zero walks. He'll try to replicate those results in his second minor league rehab start next week with an eye on rejoining the Angels' rotation by mid-June. Wilson has been on the disabled list all season with left shoulder trouble.

Gordon Beckham pinch hit in the sixth inning and clobbered a two-run homer that temporarily put the Braves on top of the Brewers on Wednesday.

Beckham picked up another base hit later in the game, but all of his damage came on a two-run shot off lefty Chris Capuano in the sixth. He's now hitting .310/.402/.451 and is proof that almost any big leaguer can be productive in small samples, if utilized correctly. He just doesn't currently see enough playing time to matter in standard fantasy formats.

Jonathan Villar went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI and a walk in Wednesday's extra-inning affair with the Braves.

Villar collected his 14th double of the year and is now hitting .290/.386/.395 on the year. He'll make questionable decisions at times -- such as getting thrown out at third base with nobody out, which he did on Wednesday -- but the 25-year-old has done far more good than bad in 2015. He now has 15 RBI to match his 15 stolen bases.

Mike Foltynewicz fanned seven in 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball in Wednesday night’s extra-inning loss to the Brewers.

Although Foltynewicz walked four, he largely overpowered the Brewers with a fastball that sat 96-97 mph in the sixth inning and a slider that regularly threatened 90 mph. That resulted in seven strikeouts. He’s still more of a thrower than a pitcher, so when the Brewers forced him to throw strikes with his breaking ball, he issued a quartet of walks. Still, the right-hander is showing some promise, and the Braves can afford to be patient, as he is just 24 years old, after all. Folty now owns a 3.95 ERA in 27 1/3 innings this year. He’ll next get the Giants at home.
May 26 - 12:06 AM

Junior Guerra struck out six and walked four over five scoreless frames against the Braves on Wednesday night.

Guerra continued to find success with his splitter, and he’s now fanned 17 batters in his last two starts. His command wavered, especially against lefties, but that’s to be expected with the 31-year-old reliever-turned-starter. Guerra has a 3.30 ERA in 30 innings for the Brewers and should continue to be a sneaky source of strikeouts, even if he’ll potentially hurt a fantasy squad’s ratios. He’ll next get the Cardinals at Miller Park in a tough matchup.

Leonys Martin left Wednesday's game against the A's with a tweaked left hamstring.

Martin was replaced in center field by Shawn O'Malley to start the fourth inning. Prior to leaving with what the Mariners are deeming a minor injury, Martin had continued his recent hot-hitting ways with a third-inning RBI single and a stolen base. Seattle is labeling him day-to-day.
