Matt Kemp went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 8-6 loss against the visiting Marlins.

Kemp has cracked three homers with eight RBI over his past eight outings, and he has a chance at his fifth-career 100 RBI season if he maintains this kind of production. His career high of 126 RBI came back in 2011 in his first tour of duty with the Dodgers, the season he was runner-up in the NL MVP voting to Milwaukee's Ryan Braun.

Miguel Sano went 2-for-3 and whacked a two-run homer during a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday.

He got things started by launching a bomb off starter Sonny Gray with Joe Mauer aboard in the first inning. Sano is up to five home runs with 13 RBI but his scary 40% strikeout rate is killing his .211 batting average. He has 32 strikeouts in 71 at-bats.

Max Kepler went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's loss to the Yankees.

He plated Joe Mauer with a single in the seventh inning but it was too little, too late for the Twins. Kepler has turned things on at the dish, slashing .308/.384/.585 with four homers and eight RBI so far this season.

Kenley Jansen allowed two unearned runs and one hit with two strikeouts in a non-save situation on Wednesday against the Marlins.

To be fair, the defense behind him caused his troubles as he pounded the strike zone 15 times on 20 pitches. However, he still sits with a 5.59 ERA through 10 appearances over 9 2/3 innings. The Dodgers appear willing to let him work through his issues in the closer's role, and manager Dave Roberts is on record a week ago claiming Jansen is not skating on thin ice.

Lance Lynn was knocked around for six earned runs in 3 2/3 innings and was charged with a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday.

Most of the damage came in the third inning when he gave up a solo dinger to Didi Gregorius and a three-run jack to Tyler Austin. Lynn is not making any new friends in Minnesota as he falls to 0-2 with a woeful 7.71 ERA after four starts. He has a bad habit of filling the bases via the walk and then giving up longballs. the veteran has 22 strikeouts, 18 walks and six homers allowed in 18 2/3 innings.

Elias Diaz went 3-for-4 on Wednesday in a win over the Tigers in game two of a doubleheader.

With the three hits, Diaz now has a .444 average to begin the year, and his .687 slugging percentage helps illustrate that the backstop is making lots of hard contact right now. He's not going to challenge Francisco Cervelli for the starting job, but if you're looking for a cheap backstop in DFS when he's in the lineup, he might be worth some consideration.

Felipe Vazquez pitched a scoreless ninth in the Pirates' victory over the Tigers in game two of a doubleheader on Wednesday.

Rivero came in with an 8-3 lead, so he didn't earn the save. He allowed one hit, but no runs scored and he struck out one. Rivero's ERA still hasn't recovered from his disastrous opening, but it's "down" to 4.82, and he's allowed just one earned run in his last nine appearances.

Brock Holt continued his hot hitting by going 3-for-4 with a run and RBI in a win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

That makes six hits in two days for Holt, who is filling in at shortstop for the injured Xander Bogaerts. He delivered an RBI-double that plated Jackie Bradley in the fifth inning. Holt will probably return to the bench in a couple days despite his hot bat when Bogaerts comes off the disabled list. He has a .327 batting average with one homer and seven RBI in 54 plate appearances.
