Stephen Piscotty will bat second Tuesday against the Reds.
This makes back-to-back starts for Piscotty out of the No. 2 spot. The 24-year-old has batted .400/.450/.514 through his first 40 plate appearances in the majors and is gaining momentum in mixed fantasy leagues.
Reds optioned OF Kyle Waldrop to Triple-A Louisville.
Waldrop was called up over the weekend and struck out in his only at-bat. The 23-year-old should be back in September.
Reds activated LHP Manny Parra from the 15-day disabled list.
Parra has been out since July 19 with a left elbow strain. He returns to a 4.00 ERA over 24 relief appearances this season.
Brett Gardner is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Red Sox.
Gardner will take a seat against left-hander Henry Owens. Chris Young is starting in left field and will bat second.
Aaron Sanchez was suspended three games by MLB for throwing at Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar on Sunday.
Things were tense all weekend between the clubs and Sunday's incident caused both benches to empty. Sanchez is expected to appeal the suspension. Blue Jays manager John Gibbons has also received a one-game suspension for coming back onto the field following his ejection earlier in the game.
Matt Boyd will be called up from Triple-A Toledo to start Wednesday against the Royals.
Boyd, who was acquired from the Blue Jays in last week's David Price deal, will start in Buck Farmer's place. The 24-year-old struggled in his first two major league starts this season, but he has posted a 1.65 ERA with 8.5 K/9 and 2.1 BB/9 over 19 starts between Double- and Triple-A. Those in mixed formats can wait and see, but he should be relevant in AL-only formats.
Braves recalled RHP Ryan Kelly from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Kelly will take Jason Frasor's spot in the bullpen. Kelly has made three appearances with the Braves this season and has posted a 0.87 ERA and 40/13 K/BB ratio over 41 1/3 innings between Double- and Triple-A.
Braves recalled INF/OF Joey Terdoslavich from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Terdoslavich will replace the injured Freddie Freeman (oblique) on the active roster. The 26-year-old is batting .147/.171/.265 in 19 games with the Braves this season and will function in a utility role.
