Gavin Floyd had to halt a live batting practice session on Wednesday after seven pitches due to "general soreness."

Floyd isn't concerned, but his next step has yet to be determined. It's not clear at this point whether the soreness is related to the surgery last June to repair a fractured olecranon in his right elbow. If Floyd were get a late start to the season, Danny Salazar and T.J. House could both be penciled into the Indians' rotation.

Jorge De La Rosa was scratched from Friday's scheduled outing due to left groin tightness.

It's just a precautionary move, as De La Rosa will play catch Friday, throw off the mound Saturday and plans to make his next scheduled start next week. As long as he doesn't have a setback, the veteran left-hander will be fine for Opening Day.

Yu Darvish (triceps) will undergo an MRI on Friday.

Darvish had to exit Thursday's Cactus League appearance due to right triceps tightness. He reported improvement Friday and the Rangers don't seem to be worried, but it's protocol for them to order an MRI just in case. Even if the MRI comes back clean, he would figure to rest a bit as a precaution. The results will be in on Saturday.

Omar Infante was scratched from Friday's lineup due to ongoing soreness in his right elbow.

Infante, who has dealt with soreness in his throwing elbow since the beginning of camp, had been slated to serve as the designated hitter. He downplayed the injury last week, but clearly he's not over it at this point. The Royals are hoping he'll be ready to serve as DH on Saturday.

An MRI of Tim Collins' left elbow has shown damage to his ulnar collateral ligament.

Collins will get a second opinion, but it appears that he's headed for Tommy John surgery. The diminutive left-hander was injured during his first Cactus League appearance on Wednesday. Collins is set to earn $1.475 million this season in his second year of arbitration eligibility.
Mar 6 - 10:22 AM

Randal Grichuk (back) will make his Grapefruit League debut on Saturday.

Grichuk has dealt with some mild lower back soreness early on in camp, but he's fine. The young outfielder is likely to make the Cardinals' Opening Day roster as a potent bench bat.
Mar 6 - 10:17 AM

Joey Votto (quad) will make his Cactus League debut on Saturday.

Votto was held back a bit as he returns from last season's quad/knee issue, but he's feeling good and now is ready to play in games. The 31-year-old first baseman will be in the No. 2 spot in the lineup Saturday versus the Royals. Votto stands a good chance to bounce back in 2015 if he can remain healthy.
Mar 6 - 10:16 AM

Michael Saunders (knee) played catch for the second straight day Friday.

He's also hoping to take swings off a tee on Friday. "Everything [in knee] feels stable, strong and healthy," Saunders said. The outfielder underwent surgery a week ago to remove part of the meniscus in his left knee but could be ready to return as soon as mid-April. Saunders will be the Blue Jays' left field once he's recovered.
