Kyle Gibson (illness) will move his bullpen session back to Thursday.

Gibson was scratched from his scheduled start on Monday due to illness. He's pushing his bullpen to Thursday as he continues to recover, but nothing has changed long-term. He remains slotted in as the Twins' fourth starter.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said that Ryan Braun was experiencing a slight tightness in his hamstring.

Roenicke doesn't consider it to be serious. Braun underwent October thumb surgery, but the thumb's healed up nicely and so long as the hamstring is a non-issue, he looks like he'll be ready for Opening Day.

Brady Penny missed Wednesday's Cactus League start with an illness.

He was replaced by Scott Carroll. Penny is in the hunt for a spot in the White Sox rotation, but you know what you're getting with the veteran at this point. He's logging a 6.89 ERA this spring. That is what you are getting.

Didi Gregorius (wrist) noted that the swelling in his wrist was subsiding.

Gregorius should be able to play on Thursday. He took part in fielding drills and batting practice on Wednesday and reported full range of motion in the wrist. This is a good sign for the Yankees, who are hopeful that Gregorius will be all-systems-go for Opening Day.

Chris Coghlan (neck) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's Cactus League game.

Coghlan's out with a stiff neck. It had not previously been an issue this spring, though he was dealing with a leg injury in the middle of March. Assuming nothing serious, he should be ready for Opening Day.

Fox Sports' Jon Morosi has reported that the Reds and Johnny Cueto have not made progress in extension talks.

Cueto will make $10 million dollars this season and is slated to hit free agency in the coming winter. He was the runner-up for the NL Cy Young in 2014. The Reds' ace missed a recent portion of spring training to attend to a private matter in the Dominican Republic, but that has no bearing on his extension talks.

White Sox reassigned RHP Jesse Crain to minor league camp.

Crain's been dealing with a cranky shoulder over the last few weeks. He'll continue his rehab at the minor league level. The righty hasn't thrown off the mound since March 18 and has said that he doesn't want to rush his recovery.
Apr 1 - 12:16 PM

White Sox reassigned LHP Carlos Rodon to minor league camp.

This was an expected move. Rodon is 4-1 with a 3.65 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 11 and 1/3 innings this spring, but the team recently made it clear that they want Rodon to at least start the season at Triple-A Charlotte. Should he be called up mid-season, he'll achieve immediate relevance in mixed leagues.
