Cody Ross went 0-for-5 with a strikeout in his return from the disabled list on Friday.

The Diamondbacks followed through on their threat and started Ross against a very tough righty in Zack Greinke. The results were pretty much what should have been expected. Ross figures to be a liability against righties for however long it takes the Diamondbacks to realize he's a fourth outfielder.

Yoenis Cespedes went 3-for-4 with a homer, three RBI and a walk as the A's drubbed the Astros 11-3 on Friday.

Cespedes hit one of the two homers off Jarred Cosart in a seven-run first for Oakland. It was his fourth homer this season, and he finished the night with 13 RBI. He's still hitting just .246, but he should continue to improve that mark.

Sonny Gray moved to 3-0 after allowing three runs in six innings Friday against the Astros.

After pitching a scoreless top of the first, Gray was handed a seven-run lead, giving him plenty of margin for error tonight. He ended up allowing more earned runs than he did in his first three starts combined (two), but that hardly matters.

Jarred Cosart lasted just one-third of an inning and gave up seven runs in an ugly loss to the A's on Friday.

Cosart walked four and gave up two homers before being pulled. It was quite a massacre for a guy who entered with a 2.42 ERA in 13 big-league starts. He had allowed just four homers in 78 innings dating back to his callup last season. We're not very high on Cosart for fantasy purposes this year, but hopefully this will go down as an isolated incident.

Josh Reddick snapped out of his slump by going 3-for-4 with a two-run homer Friday against the Astros.

Reddick raised his average from .098 with .156 on the night. He had been 4-for-41 with no extra-base hits and one RBI this season.

Leading off for the first time this season, Jose Altuve went 2-for-5 with a run scored on Friday.

The Astros tried to shake things up a little bit by moving Altuve into Dexter Fowler's spot, batting Fowler second and going with George Springer in the cleanup spot. And they scored three runs, so that's an improvement. Altuve has a little more fantasy value hitting leadoff than he does third or fourth, partly because the Astros' No. 3 and 4 hitters aren't going to hit with many guys on base anyway.

Batting cleanup in his third big-league game, George Springer went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a steal on Friday.

Springer's first two hits Wednesday and Thursday were both infield singles, but he had a couple to the outfield tonight. He also reached on an error in the first. It was probably a little better for his fantasy value if he remained a No. 2 hitter, but it shouldn't matter much as long as he stays in the top four.Gro

Troy Tulowitzki had a huge day at the plate on Friday against the Phillies, going 3-for-3 with a home run, five RBI, a walk, and two runs scored.

Tulo terrorized the Phillies on Friday, delivering a three-run homer in the second inning, an RBI double in the fourth, and an RBI single in the sixth. Oh, and he also drew a 14-pitch walk against Jonathan Pettibone in a four-run first inning. The veteran shortstop is hitting .360 (18-for-50) with eight extra-base hits (two home runs), 11 RBI, and a .460 on-base percentage through 16 games. It goes without saying, but he's a fantasy monster when healthy.
