Lorenzo Cain (hamstring) went 0-for-4 with a strikeout Monday in his return to action against the Astros.

Cain didn't start Sunday due to a lingering hamstring issue, but he felt good enough to serve as the DH on Monday. He might not be completely out of the woods yet, but it's a good sign.

Jenrry Mejia struck out two batters in a scoreless inning Monday with Triple-A Las Vegas.

It was his first appearance with Triple-A after making two scoreless outings with the Mets' Gulf Coast League affiliate. Mejia is eligible to return from his 80-game PED suspension on July 7. He's likely to set up for Jeurys Familia upon his return.

The Yankees have moved Adam Warren to the bullpen.

Warren is the odd-man out now that Ivan Nova is back from the disabled list. It's an expected move, though CC Sabathia is probably more deserving to lose his rotation spot. Warren has a solid 3.59 ERA and 54/26 K/BB ratio in 82 2/3 innings over 14 starts this season.

Nathan Eovaldi will start Wednesday against the Angels.

In turn, Adam Warren will be moved to the bullpen. Eovaldi allowed two runs over six innings against the Astros in his last start and owns a 4.81 ERA and 60/22 K/BB ratio over 82 1/3 innings on the year.

Allen Webster took a no-decision, giving up four runs in 3 2/3 innings, but the Diamondbacks still managed to pull out a 10-6 win against the Dodgers on Monday.

Webster allowed three solo home runs in the fourth inning, proving to be his undoing. Two were back-to-back shots by Andre Ethier and Yasmani Grandal. The third was a tape-measure shot by Joc Pederson. Following that, Webster issued a walk and a single before getting yanked. All told, he gave up five hits, walked four, and struck out three. In four starts, Webster has a 7.11 ERA with a 1.68 WHIP and a 12/14 K/BB ratio over 19 innings. He's due to start at home against the Rockies next.

Nick Ahmed went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Monday's win against the Dodgers.

Ahmed clubbed a two-run home run to left-center off of Joel Peralta in the fifth inning to put the Diamondbacks on the board. The 25-year-old has struggled as the Diamondbacks' regular shortstop, batting .233/.303/.348 with five home runs, 18 RBI, and four stolen bases.

Yasmany Tomas homered and walked in five trips to the plate Monday as the Diamondbacks took down the Dodgers.

Tomas lined a two-run home run to left field in the sixth inning off of Yimi Garcia. It barely made it over the fence and was reviewed for fan interference, but was ultimately upheld. The power hasn't quite been there as often as the D'Backs would have liked, but Tomas has otherwise done a fine job at the plate in his first year in the majors, batting .314/.357/.440 with four home runs and 29 RBI.
Jun 30 - 1:34 AM

Joc Pederson went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run but the Dodgers were outslugged by the Diamondbacks in Monday's loss.

Pederson hit a tape-measure blast to right-center in the fourth inning off of Allan Webster, one of three solo shots the Dodgers hit in the frame. The rookie is up to 20 home runs on the season along with 38 RBI and a .241/.384/.529 triple-slash line.
