Asdrubal Cabrera went 2-for-3 with a home run and three runs scored as the Rays trounced the White Sox 11-3 on Tuesday.

Cabrera hit one of the Rays' four homers on the night, taking reliever Daniel Webb deep in the seventh inning. It was his third consecutive two-hit game and extended his hitting streak to a modest eight games. Cabrera has raised his average 21 points in that span, and he's now hitting .241/.294/.390 with seven homers on the season.

Avisail Garcia went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored in a loss against the Rays on Tuesday.

Garcia salvaged his night a bit with the blast, a solo shot in the ninth inning of a blowout. Somewhat unbelievably, it was Garcia's first homer since June 8. The outfielder has struggled to hit for power for much of the year, batting just .267/.312/.369 with 34 RBI and 41 runs scored.

Richie Shaffer hit his first major league home run in Tuesday's win over the White Sox.

Shaffer took reliever Daniel Webb deep for a solo homer in the seventh inning to get on the board. He also walked and scored another run in the game. It's not surprising that it took Shaffer just two games to find the seats, as he hit 16 homers in 55 games at Triple-A this year before being promoted. The homer certainly won't be the last for the former first-round pick.
Aug 5 - 12:11 AM

Kevin Kiermaier went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the White Sox.

Kiermaier had three of the Rays' 13 hits on the evening against Chris Sale and company. He had a pair of RBI singles in the affair, giving him 21 RBI on the season. The defensive-minded outfielder is hitting .247/.280/.404 with 11 steals and 41 runs scored overall.
Aug 5 - 12:07 AM

Chris Sale was knocked around by the Rays on Tuesday, allowing seven runs over 5 1/3 innings in the loss.

That's now the second straight start in which Sale has given up seven runs, a bit of a concerning trend for a pitcher of Sale's ilk. On Tuesday it was the long ball, as Sale served up two homers among his six hits allowed. As usual, Sale did strike out nine in the start. Sale is now 9-7 with a 3.52 ERA and 1.08 WHIP, and he'll look to get back in the win column Monday against the Angels.
Aug 5 - 12:03 AM

Brewers recalled RHP Tyler Cravy from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Cravy has yielded five runs across 15 innings with the big club this season. He'll be used in long relief.
Aug 5 - 12:02 AM

Brewers optioned RHP Preston Guilmet to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Claimed off waivers last week, Guilmet was rocked for six runs over an inning of work in his last appearance with the Brew Crew. Tyler Cravy is taking his spot in the bullpen.
Aug 5 - 12:00 AM

Chris Archer limited the White Sox to two runs over seven innings in Tuesday's win.

Archer yielded six hits and a walk, striking out seven in the start. In an unlikely turn of events, Archer earned his first win since June 23 on Tuesday despite being opposed by Chris Sale. Archer is now 10-8 with a 2.54 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 180/34 K/BB ratio over 148 2/3 innings. His next start will come Tuesday against the Braves.
