Steve Pearce hit a three-run homer off Justin Anderson in the top of the ninth to lead the Blue Jays to a 4-1 win over the Angels on Saturday.

Pearce pinch-hit for Curtis Granderson with a lefty on the mound in the seventh and flied out. The Jays would have rather had Granderson back out there against the righty in the ninth, but Pearce came through, hitting his fourth homer in 72 at-bats this season. There's a case for giving him more playing time, but that will be difficult as long as Kendrys Morales remains on the roster.

Marcus Stroman blanked the Angels for five innings Saturday in his return from the disabled list.

Stroman scattered six hits, all of which were singles, and walked just one. He struck out five and got seven outs on the ground. It was definitely an encouraging first outing back after a six-week absence due to shoulder fatigue, and he should be worth using in mixed leagues with the Tigers next on the schedule.

Ryan Tepera pitched a perfect ninth Saturday against the Jays for his sixth save.

Tepera got the easier part of the lineup in a three-run game, retiring Kole Calhoun, Jose Briceno and Jose Fernandez in order. He's allowed one run and struck out 12 in 10 2/3 innings this month.

Jaime Barria surrendered one run in five innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Blue Jays.

Barria got the job done, but he walked four and threw just 49 of his 93 pitches for strikes. He'll probably need to be a little finer than that with the Red Sox next on the schedule.

Justin Anderson took a loss after giving up a three-run homer in the ninth inning Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Anderson was brought into a tie game tonight after picking up a save Thursday and retired just two of the six hitters he faced. The homer off the bat of Steve Pearce was the first he's allowed since May 11. He'll remain an important late-game reliever for the Angels for now.

Carlos Correa singled in George Springer in the bottom of the 12th to give the Astros a 4-3 win over the Royals on Saturday.

Correa also had a sac fly in the contest. He's hit .290 with four homers and 11 RBI in 16 games this month, and he's very much in the driver's seat for starting at shortstop for the AL in the All-Star Game.
Jun 23 - 11:33 PM

Lance McCullers allowed three runs in six innings and struck out nine against the Royals on Saturday.

All of the runs came on Hunter Dozier's homer in the fourth. McCullers allowed a total of four hits and walked two. He's turned in five straight quality starts.
Jun 23 - 11:30 PM

Ian Kennedy held the Astros to two runs and four hits over seven innings on Saturday.

Kennedy left with a one-run lead, but he remained winless since April 7 after the tying run scored in the ninth. Since getting torched for eight runs on June 1, Kennedy has allowed a total of eight runs in four starts, lowering his ERA from 6.08 to 5.09. He'll get the Mariners next.
